Were the ex pros a bit miserable cos we didn't win the league?
No. In fairness most were in flying form, very engaging and made the effort to talk to us all. A player would pop over to each table of 5/6 during the dinner for a chat. The only fella people had any problem with was John Aldridge. Few of the lads thought he was very disrespectful when he kept scrolling through his phone throughout whilst being asked questions.
VVD and Klopp win PL player and manager of the month for December.
That's the first defender to win POTM since Vertonghen in March 2013
Ronnie Rosenthal scores a hatrick in his first full game for Liverpool v Charlton Athletic in 1990 #LFC https://t.co/l3q9PWmpuR
16 games left
We have 9 at home
City have 9 away. Fine details and all that. I'll tell you this for nothing if we win all our home games and also go on and win all our away games we'll win the league.
Klopp must have sanctioned a deal for Mings to leave in this window
I'll tell ya something else. If we lose one of them, we'll still win the league.
It used to always seem like we never win after our manager wins Manager of the Month. So I went and checked. We've won ManagerOTM 15 times, and have only won 6 games immediately after. 1 under Roy Evans, 2 under Houllier/Thompson, 2 under Rodgers, 1 under Klopp.
Manager of the month is not something I ever thought about to be honest but I am surprised that a Liverpool manager has only won it 15 times, if the award has been in place for 25 years at 9 months a year and we have been in the League every season.
Everton have 12 and Moyes alone has 10. Must be a fix
10?? Affs, what a joke
Fergie is the only United manager to win it and he has 27. It seems you either need to be Fergie, or have won all your games 5-0, or be a shit team who has not been trounced by the top 6 in any given month in order to win it.
Easy for the small clubs to win it as the expectations aren't as high. It's a purely subjective award, so doesn't hold much weight at all.
At least they now have something in their trophy cabinet.
I know I'm always banging on about it but 2 things that premier league winning teams do in recent years is concede less than 38 goals for the season and have at least 1 player score 20 or more goals, LFC are on course to do it for the first time in a long time this season.
Brilliant, lovely thing to do.
Youth Cup 3rd round tonight and whenever it comes around now it makes me sad that clubs don't have to stage the game at their own stadium. Just saw we're playing our game at St Helens. Used to be a big deal and the biggest games that some of the kids involved will ever get to play in. Not enforcing that rule anymore takes a lot of the prestige away and devalues the competition a lot.
Take a look at @BassTunedToRed's Tweet:
Thats a pretty low number, doesn't even average out at 1 a season.
Not sure what the new training base will be like in Kirby but be great if we had something like Man City where their underage team have their own ground
