Was trying to find a Liverpool Mug and hoodie for a nephew of mine but couldn't see anything in the sports shops apart from the replica warrior kits and training gear. Can anyone suggest somewhere in town that might have that kind of stuff? Cheers
Did you try sports world? I know the one in Carrick mines stock LFC mugs etc. I bought one from there before.
This is exactly the reason why the club should open up a Dublin store. Would be nothing but a nice earner at the end of the day.
i'd say the the rental price for a decent premises in dublin is what has put the club off doing this. celtic have a store in the jervis centre,i'd love to know what rent they're paying for it cos any time i've passed it there's never anyone in it,i'd be amazed if it's making a profit and if it is it can't be much.
I have often wondered the same about that Celtic shop. In the last few years I am seen less and less Celtic gear in Dublin, with rangers gone loads must have lost interest.
Wasn't there one years ago in Arnotts ? I thought there was and it ultimately failed due to lack of sales. ... I think LFC (or any other club) would struggle to cover high rent and other costs, if relying on the sale of merchandise alone in a high profile Dublin store. A club would have to be prepared to suffer a small trading loss each year and subsidise the sales given Ireland has such a small market, many people buy when at the club shops in Liverpool or online now etc. I suspect it's a similar situation with the likes of the Disney Store on Grafton Street, that Disney effectively help cover the cost of the shop, to promote the brandname at large .... although granted I can't prove my suspicions. An alternative and perhaps better approach might be to try and do a deal with the likes of Elverys or Lifestyle Sports to get some decent shelf space in (all) of their outlets, then rotate some of the merchandise so that there's different stuff available at different times of the year etc.
There was one on the quays years ago Near the hapenny bridge It closed down, didn't united also have one on dolier street that closed ?
I really have no idea about these sort of things, but wouldn't Dublin have similar rent/rates to Belfast? (maybe I'm way off with that?) But the Belfast store has been going for 4 years, and seems to be doing well. http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/dalglish-to-open-new-club-store (Literally walking past it right now on my way to work )
Realistically I could only see a club shop working on either Grafton street or henry street.not sure about henry street but I know rent on Grafton street is outrageous.

So to answer my own question basically I have to go to Belfast or buy online from the LFC store because there's no where in Dublin that stocks the type of items I'm looking for.

I'd say a a joint LFC Man Utd shop in Dublin would work. You'd probably need both clubs to have the same kit manufacturers for the idea to be even entertained.
A mate of mines son was at an interview for a job in Liverpool store based in Dublin and got the job so must be opening soon. Surprised myself can't see one lasting here.
If it was a case that someone was able to do a deal with both clubs to stock stuff then it wouldnt matter about kit makers I reckon.
