Rovers had 12 attempts on goal to 3, Rovers forced 12 corners to 2, higher possession as the away team, hardly bottling it is it?

Calmer finishing and we win the game at a stroll.
No questioning de boez determination and a super goal to win it and their timewasting is an art form these days, but we should have drawn at the very least.

As I've said since halfway through last season, the lack of an out and out striker will be our undoing.

I think the oul "telling it as it is" defence is kind of missing the point being made mate. I dont think there's any doubt there's some sort of mental issue with Rovers when it comes to Bohs because each team's respective league positions for the period of those 8 games suggests Rovers are the better team. The point being raised is whether that type of reaction to winning is the way players should be behaving in general.

7 defeats and 1 draw in 8 games against a team who you finished 14 points ahead of last season, were what,10 points ahead going into this one and they were depleted through injuries? Surely you'd have to question the character in your squad?

Maybe a slightly dis tasteful reaction from Talbot but it’s hard to criticize what he’s said without knowing what’s been said on the pitch between players etc. Also it’s an interview straight after a heated battle along with numerous objects and coins being thrown at you him from the away end.

Alluded to all of that already mate and I'm talking about this kind of reaction in general in football.

You mentioned it should stay on the pitch only, and while I agree, it's very hard to not say something like that, when you're still "in the heat of battle" in an interview straight after FT, as @LFCToohey said above.

I wouldn't agree. It wasn't professional, just stirs the pot. I'd say comments like that in an interview in england could get you in hot water with the FA for incitement.

It's obvious Long has the measure of this Rovers side and our manager, I was simply saying to suggest Rovers bottled it last Friday was wrong, the previous two we had 10 and 9 men and lost to two dubious penalties and never conceded from play. In saying that, we have been utter horseshit in the other games in that run

Yep there's a definite mental block/lack of leadership in some games with this Hoops team, I was never under any illusion we'd win the league this year, to keep as close to the sister marriers for as long as possible was the aim. It's still doable as we play them next.

Anyhoo, Europa league qualifiers draw today, I would be amazed if we don't draw the team from Belarus :(

Any league of Ireland footballer having a pop off another league of Ireland club needs their head examined. If young and good enough, chances are, you are going to play for all or certainly some of the big clubs in the league. Better financial security and longer contracts would come before my allegiances to any club in the league of Ireland.

I get heat of the moment but use your head.

So it's Brann Bergen for the Hoops in Europe, nearly as bad as getting the Belarus team. Flights around €350+ and the guts of €9 a pint :( might have to give this one a miss. But never say never ;)

The bottling I would be worried about is the ones being thrown at a player, for F**k sake, this isn't 80's Engerland, surely this needs to be nipped in the bud and perpetrators banned for life. Hard enough to persuade people to go to LOI but if this is going on would seriously disencourage people from going even more.

Them stats don’t matter when you’ve done nothing with them. And with regards to bottling I may have used the wrong term, what I meant was that whenever there is pressure but on yous, you seem to crumble. Danny Grant gave your left full a tough time out in Tallaght every time he got on the ball, which eventually led to him bringing him down as last man and getting sent off, Bohs had a spell of pressure on Friday night and you gave away two needless penalties, which could have and should have been avoided.

Who's daft idea is it to play Friday/Monday after such a long break? They do it the first week of the season too, just daft.

Handy win last night after the gut-wrencher of a defeat on Friday. Greg Bolger's best game for us in quite a while, Carr's worst game all year, no surprise he got hooked at half time. Jack Byrne was pure class. Lovely evening for a game. Shligeach on Friday before we travel to Norway next week.
