I think he's been a huge loss tbh.
I'm certain we would have picked up more points with him in the side instead of Matip.

Think Matip has been ok. Unless Gomez was going to score at the other end, 6 clean sheets in 10 games is not bad going since Wolves in Cup.

Alisson could potentially be questioned for some of the goals too, if looking for Liverpool to keep a clean sheet in every game. But if Gomez had been playing, maybe we would have conceded less to teams like Palace, Leicester and West Ham.

The whole team as a unit is more solid and fluid with Gomez there imo.
That effects the midfield and in turn the attack.
Clean sheets against Utd and Everton but with an extra edge we could have won those games.
It's no coincidence that our form has dipped without him.

It's a coincidence really. We won 6 straight after he got injured.

4 home games and away to Bournemouth and Wolves. Not a bad run.

So you think he hasn't been missed?
You would happily keep Matip in the side when Gomez is fit?

Nope Gomez is better than Matip so I'd put him straight back in to the team, same for Lovren over Matip. I've got no doubt at all that we are weaker with Matip instead of Gomez.

I just think It just seems too arbitrary to say that our form has dipped when he went out and completely ignoring the 6 games we won straight after he got injured.

I didn't mean our form dipped as soon as Gomez got injured.

I meant we wouldn't have had such a dip and dropped so many points if he was still in the side.
As it stands, those dropped points are huge.

Could be argued reason why we have dropped points was because of our forward players not putting chances away as we have been sound at the back most of the reason no matter who has been there.

Matip kicked the ball off Alisson a few weeks ago, and scored an OG on Wednesday night. He also hit his own net recently when it was disallowed for offside. So I think Gomez in there instead of Matip would have made a difference.

Matip was very good against Bayern during the week and is a good centre back but he does find it hard to adjust his feet quickly at times. I'd have him just ahead of Lovren who is more injury prone. Gomez had an excellent dozen or so games at the start of the season but prior to that I had always questioned his positioning although often that was him playing from a full back position and he may have benefitted from playing alongside Van Dijk this season. I'd have Gomez as no.2 centre back but only just, although he has the potential to really improve in the next few years providing he stays fit.

I don't think anyone would argue that Gomez wouldn't have made a difference to the team but one player wasn't going to address the issues that have seen us drop so many points in 2019.

Klopp has also said the Gomez will be back after the international break.
