Irishkop is one of the most welcoming communities I've encountered but the initial few days can be treacherous none the less as you try to hide the fact you're really just here for the tickets. Here's some help 1. DO NOT reply to 10 posts in a row as you appear as 'last post by' everywhere across the board drawing unwanted attention 2. Perhaps start with a post in the Newbie's Forum introducing yourself with some waffle about looking to get involved 3. Reply to a few (but not all) of the inevitable welcoming comments and before you know it you're on 5+ 4. Make absolutely no reference to tickets in the Newbie's Forum, keep it light, see point 2 above 5. If you know someone on the site it's good to throw in a name drop. Even if they're unpopular here it could lead to some conversation back and forth and suddenly you're in double digits 6. The Match Day Forum. The mecca for lads talking shite during the match. The more corners and missed chances the better leading to openings for comments like 'should of done better, come on Red men'. You're now getting giddy after numerous mundane match related comments as you see you're over 20 posts. 7. If you have something vaguely insightful to say about a player, post match is a good opportunity to tag on a few more posts. Someone unfashionable who had a good game is safe territory 8. Technology. Lads around here love technology. Google some obscure Android box and spout on about its capabilities and offer to help in some way. The link to the page you just googled may be enough 9. Keep your cool, you can see your next post is going to be your 30th. DO NOT use it in the Ticket Forum looking for tickets as all your hard fought credibility is out the window 10. Dip your toe in the Travel forum without actually asking for a ticket. Questions you already know the answer to will do like the timetable for buses etc. Before you know it you'll seem like you were there longer than you actually were
or if you want to get in the owners good books, post a few pictures of the golden girls.....Dub 13 loves blanch
A schoolboy error there Stevie S, how did you miss out on the Premier prediction games ? it's very handy to post in there and all's welcome to join in anytime, no cliques or favouritism in there it's all down to your own skill (pure flukeisum) at predicting, and who knows you might make a friend or two along the way
Haha, good point. I'm not a veteran of that thread myself for some reason. I do like that sort of stuff
Hahaha very good sir. I think the ones that live in fear of nothing are the best. No introduction, no 'ease it in' post just straight down to business with a "Need 1 for this" for a game that has probably sold out on 12+ credits.
I could tweak it a bit for this alright as most people tend to start on 2 posts anyway: 1: Hi guys in need of 2 tickets for X game 2: Sorry I'm new here, I will read them now
Hahaha or sometimes post number two can be "Oh right, I didn't realise there was rules. I'll look elsewhere thanks" before logging out and never returning.
best i have read in ages. so good it made an ex i k poster like myself come out of retirement anyway, back to lurksville i go
