I was in Navan yesterday, although on the stand and opposite the flags. There was more than one but only one seems to have caused an issue. During the game they were only flown after a score but that lad was lifted before the match went on at all. The lads with them moved behind the goal and seemed to be left alone then.

On the game itself on balance Tyrone probably deserved it, they missed enough to be out of sight at half time. But the ref was terrible aside from the last free and the peno he pulled another Meath advantage back for a free when we were through on goal and also done the same with Tyrone near the end of normal time. when they were through as well. The bottom line is after the Waterford game last week it's another week where a ref is escorted off the pitch due to a poor game. At the very least there should be some sort of interview where these displays are explained to the public. Lads train like hell and give up a lot more than they should and deserve better than erratic displays by officials with noone held accountable.

Didn’t know it was before the game, seems strange people would complain about obstructing a view before the game started. Reminds of LFC Boro game a few years ago in Annie Road end. Myself and cousin standing talking to a fella in row in front while players were warming up. This grump started giving us grief to sit down as we were blocking his view. Must have had a keen interest in the Boro keeper.

This will get interesting. How could they fix for Croke Park without even consulting Kildare?

Prob lose out on about €60k or more if it stays in Croke Park and not switched to Newbridge

Either way I'll be in Castlebar for it

Apparently they did, informed them between Mayo and Kildare they had too many season tickets sold for Newbridge to hold. Asked them to select an alternative, they didn't so they stuck it in croker.

What ever happens this could be a game changer for how they sell season tickets going forward.

I think it's time for the terms to be changed with the season tickets, from next season on, tickets for any away games in smaller venues should be issued on a loyalty basis.
This Kildare/mayo game for example, give mayo 1,000 tickets and issue them to the people with maximum attendance this season, very easily done, the info is all recorded, anyone who doesn't get a ticket can have no complaints.
This craic of a guaranteed ticket for every game should stop, every home game yes but not every away game, don't think that happens in any other sport.

Seen someone earlier posting up the Ts&Cs of the season ticket and it does say they cant guarantee you the ticket if the capacity of the ground if lower than the amount of season tickets. Smacks of pure greed too, Mayo are the second best supported team in the country so they're out to milk them for all its worth

Anybody agree with the GAA's decision here? On the face of it I think it seems unfair but I don't know much about how things work.Playing devils advocate though,if all the money the GAA make goes back into the game,is it justified for them to maximise their revenue?

The gaa have made a bollix of it, Kildare have every right to insist on home advantage and the rules back them up.
Rounds 1, 2 and 3 the team drawn first will have home advantage.
