Not that anything could put a dampener on the evening but why grown man need to stand on their seat to watch a game I will never know. One lad spent most of the first half making obscene gestures towards the City fans and wasn't even watching the game. Crazy how whoppers like that secure tickets when so many top Reds have to do without.
Those whoppers will be out again in force for the next two legs Colm im afraid. Phone has been buzzing all morning with requests for tickets for the semi final from lads that have not been over in a few years or when they go over its a big game every season. Just waiting on Kopstar to put up a request for a ticket for both games with flights and accomadation already booked .
Yes a great time for nephews birthday's, the fellas birthday with flights and hotels booked but didn't think the tickets would be a problem or the old let down line
Think it's always been an expensive place to fly to. Germany probably offers the most options, in terms of methods of getting there and by extension, perhaps a few cheaper travel options. Anyway, one step at a time ....
Flights from London to Kiev going for 312 right now, jaysis youd be tempted before they go up to 600+ in a couple of weeks. About 100 of that 312 is taxes which are refundable if you dont end up flying.
It's a personal choice but the final venue would seriously put me off travelling for the final should we get there, particularly given the political situation.
I think Kiev is okay, the volatilty in Ukraine is on the western border hundreds of miles from the capital cheers man I hadnt thought of that routing, must check it out. Im not sure to book now and take the money hit if we dont make it or after the semis when things are more certain but prices will rocket. Would love to make it there if we do get to the final. I went to Basel in 2015 and it was some craic even though the result didnt go our way. There was well over 20,000 Liverpool fans who travelled and watched the match in the fanzone, the whole town square went mental when Sturridge scored. I always said after that if we get to any European Cup finals I would go again, they dont come along often and it is special to be there even if you dont have a hope of a ticket
I didn't do the homes this year and only did most of the aways,I won't be able get tickets. So I'll see happens,my 2 brothers booked that route before city game,I won't be der. I was too in Basel personally I wouldn't go to final without tickets. Well especially too Kiev when it so far away and expensive
I think it's great that all these conversations are happening about the place and on here It means we are on the brink of greatness again and I can't help but enjoy the build up and nonsense that comes at times like this
Gerry Im all about away games, have got to three so far this season plus the friendly in Lansdowne. I came over here to discuss and share information with members who want to travel to Kiev if that is okay?
yeah it is a fair old distance but its also a rare event so worth making the trip to get there IMO. Though I wouldnt expect it to be all that expensive- I was in Lviv in Ukraine back in 2014 and it was pretty cheap, we rented a huge apartment in the city centre for 30 quid a night, beers were around a euro, decent meals for 6 or 7 quid. I would imagine the hotels in Kiev will jack up their rates big time but there should be some good deals on Airbnb. Also Kiev is a city of 3 million people so it should be well able to absorb the numbers coming in accomodation wise which was not the case with Basel where loads had to stay across the border in France due to lack of rooms.
