Strange to have this attitude towards this and have an avatar highlighting the 96??
Genuinely thought, at the time, that Barnes had made a mistake.
Apologise lads to those who were offended.
Liverpool city council has now backed the campaign officially
I see Aspinalls jumped on the City Council brigade and holding a Don't buy the sun banner, fuckin joke after what the HFSG did in 1997 this is why the HJC was formed.
Could you elaborate on this please?
Trevor hicks held a meeting with the rag against the wishes of many
murph will know more
I wasn't aware of this, if it is okay to post on the forum I'd like to hear more Murph.
Horrible situation.I can't even begin to imagine the strain of dealing with such emotive issues could have on such a large group conducting a campaign so personally I wouldn't be judging anybody for decisions they take under such stress. At the same time the club should deal with whatever group any of the family members choose to be a part of.Marginalising the other group is a disgrace.
Others would be more aware of the full ins and outs of it than I would to be honest
personally I am not judging anyone
Meet and think of working with the people who started the smear campaign against the heroic survivors and the dead
And rightly so people were against it - which was good enough reason not to go ahead with it
The same group now backing groups against the rag is im sure one of the things thats making people angry
Thank God for the "maverick"
Well done Derry and Strabane councils
A motion was passed this week by Derry City and Strabane District Council calling for The Sun newspaper to be banned in local newsagents within the area.
The motion was put forward by independent Councillor Paul Gallagher in a stand with the families of the Hillsborough tragedy.
In reply to the Councillor’s motion being passed, a spokesperson for The Sun Newspaper described this action as extreme censorship and was astonished by the councils vote to pass the motion.
Earlier this week Liverpool Councillors unanimously backed a similar motion.
Just wondering has everybody started ignoring Talksport yet?? I unliked and stopped following them on twitter last week as the amount of S#n articles they were sharing was blinding.
Absolutely sickening that they have been welcomed in all these years
While ts good they wont be there
In my personal opinion its a very hollow gesture from the club and way too late for me
If they genuinely cared so much they'd have done it years ago
Surprising that they have taken this action after nearly 28 years. I suppose it is better late than never.
Dont Buy the S*n.
Expect to see some nasty stories on LFC in the coming weeks, knowing this rag, this will be out to make a point
Didn't Klopp call them out and effectively ban them earlier in the season over the Lovren story so this is just the Club rolling in behind him and extending it to the press box, still as others have said they should have been banned the day after the disaster when they ran their first story.
Given the rag has no credibility with pretty much every football fan I doubt anyone is too worried about their manufactured stories against the club that will result from the total ban.
This story has surprised me, surprised me in the sense that i aasumed it happened years ago.
