Honestly if that's the case hope get massive fines ffs. More piss taking just means any semblance of normality further away. Restaurants and pubs for example.

Went in to that coffee shop again this morning, still no staff wearing masks and very few customers wearing them.

Had a fcukin outbreak in our family.
Mam, Pop, Aunt - all in their mid 70's. Several kids/care givers to boot
Thankfully my parents are tough as old boots but that doesnt stop you going up the wall with worry.

2 weeks of bugging the brains out of them several times a day on the phone started yesterday.
    "How's your temperature"
    "Hows your appetite"
"feeling off in any NEW way?"
    "are you taking it easy"
    "do ye need anything?"

talk about role reversal - now I get to treat them like teenagers

Glad see the positive cases falling very fast. Level 5 seems to be working well. Hospitals seem to be managing okayish.
Reading about northern Ireland, cases seem to be still high, hospitals all seem pretty rammed and capicty, read today its at 104% capicty.

Cases are dropping but it's the effect of level 3 really still. It will take another couple of days before we'll see the effect of level 5 as by the time people get symptoms, get tested and get results, over a week would have passed since they contracted the virus.

I've no issue with the concept of the 5 day test removing restrictions but the rest of the country is meant to be on lockdown so why will tourists get priority?

I take it the distinction is that the rest of the population is not getting tested, as they have the option of doing?

Just read 6% of all prisoners in one Texas prison, died from Covid. 80% of those who died in all Texas prisons/jails had not been convicted of a crime. 9 people who died had already been approved for parole.

I think in years to come we're going to be shocked at a lot of the facts that come out about this pandemic and how it was handled in many countries.

I think in years to come we will also hear the negative impact of the lack of treatment of other physical and mental health illnesses that this pandemic has caused and how it was handled in many countries.

I've been waiting since last September for an MRI scan and a referral to the orthopedic clinic, I had honestly given up hope of ever hearing from them, actually couldn't believe it when the hospital rang me yesterday with a date for the scan.

This is absolutely not aimed at you because you've obviously being sincere but one heart-warming thing that has come out of this whole pandemic is the sheer volume of right-wing nutjobs who have ordinarily steadfastly refuse to believe in any kind of basic human rights for anyone (particularly but not limited to foreign people) have opened up their usually insular minds to lamenting over the mental health woes of the nation caused by the lockdowns. Vintners associations are another group that I have to say have come out of the whole thing looking great too, their concern for the mental health of their punters is just wonderful to see in these crazy times and their worry about them while their pubs can't serve them any alcohol to help them socialise, I wonder have they ever considered if there's any link between their patrons mental health issues and the libations that they're serving up!

Yep,we had waiting lists running into years and a mental health crisis that wasn't even close to being addressed long before covid. And listening to people who constantly vote or warn against Swedish type social programmes that made the Swedes think they could take a different approach, while at the same time pleading with their governments to approach the virus like Sweden did, was very frustrating.....for a lot of reasons.

Maybe this pandemic will have made people realise that they should be more concerned with ensuring everybody has a proper health service and a safety net when they need it,rather than with stopping people get things they don't deserve. I'm not optimistic, but you never know.

Had to bring my daughter to get tested this morning, due to very high temp last night.

Not expecting a positive result but protocol takes over. The speed of the apt and how quick we got in/ out is very impressive.

Hopefully get the all clear soon
