Another piece of business that came out of nowhere and announced only by a guy close to the club when it was effectively done. https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/liverpool-reach-agreement-cody-gakpo-transfer
I've been a huge fan of this lad since Stephens' night. A few more YouTube clips and I'll be an expert on him.
Think the same can be said for every game. Looks tidy on the ball but doesn't look a ball winner or someone who will hold onto it to get us up the pitch. Strange enough signing given the shortages in midfield at present.
For me , he looks again tidy on the ball , doesn't look as if he would win many balls or hold onto it for that matter. He looks out of place doesn't seem a right fit for the team overall. But we'll see as the rest of the season progresses. Maybe he'll find his footing.
I'm sure if he had a fully fit Nunez and Diaz/Jota next to him he'd fair a lot better. It's hard to get going in a team that's low in conference
Will definitely be reserving judgement on this lad till next season, brand new to the league and in a team who's confidence is on the floor. I personally wouldn't have signed him if we could only bring in one this month either
Poor enough again yesterday but did have a few bright moments compared to some other games. We played a bit deeper yesterday and I don't think he has the pace to play on the break so I don't think it suited him.
I think he announced himself today for sure, showed all the qualities I think we were given for signing him.
First time seeing him live. What a rag of player, get sum muscle and he will be crazy. Sum pace and has started to settle in . With nice taken goals. Whoever called him on twitter after few games need trust
He has a bit of what Bobby brought to the false 9 role in terms of dropping deep and linking things together. He brings more pace and potentially more goals too. There's only one Bobby Firmino but Gakpo is starting to look like he could be the perfect successor.
