Lads anyone getting a taxi after the match direct to Stansted?
Gatwick Express off peak ticket booked return approx €33 for my flights in & out of Gatwick on day of the game.
Must book this myself
Travel card Day pass zones 1-6 off peak costs £13.10
Think i'll go this route granted a little longer journey time between rail and underground
it's only 28 mins to victoria if you get the correct train. you can also change at east croydon for a direct service to wembley. same journey time about 28 mins to london bridge if you get a fast train with the £13.10 ticket and I think it gets you back to the airport
I am a little tight for time after the game need to make the 8.10pm Aer Lingus flight, my flights were cheap so pay for the express to make sure I make flight home
Looking at jumping onto this now. Anyone reckon the half 8 home from Heathrow is doable or is it far too tight. Taxi is 27 mins but not sure how traffic would be if I got a taxi at half 6 surely that would be fine?
I know Black Cabs to Heathrow are mad money. Of course with a few shares it might make a massive difference to the price.
Think you would also make that flight using the Heathrow Express from Paddington, 15 mins journey time £22 single fare.
Cheers Lional, taking the train would be my 1st choice. My concern would be the queue to get on a train at Wembley could mess it up
If it was a 16:00 kick off I would say no chance. Huge difference for a match like this is there will be a lot of supporters who will stay behind for a trophy presentation which makes a huge difference in the time it will take to get to Wembley Park tube station. That route has been very slow the last two seasons Liverpool played there (was at both) but that was with a London club involved who would not have supporters travelling a different route.
Win or lose, I'd be on the move at the final whistle. If I was booked on your flight.
Anyone know if Travel cards can be bought at Gatwick? Wondering if there is a price difference to the on line price which then involves postage but hopefully the same.
07.30 over an 21.30 home from Gatwick for this.
I was able to buy an oyster travel card at a desk just as you come out of arrivals a couple of years back - probably still the same I’d say
Just tap and go with a debit/credit card apparently works just fine. Remembering to tap off
Usually a bit of a queue for that
Looking forward to this now. Going to get up to Wembley early and collect tickets collected because feel like it'll be busy later in the day with collections. Where are people thinking of heading beforehand?
Liverpool supporters heading to Wembley on Sunday for the FA Community Shield meeting with Manchester City should note the following important information.
Fans travelling to London by National Rail services to Euston are advised not to alight at either Harrow and Wealdstone or Watford Junction stations and to alight services at Euston instead.
Due to planned Network Rail engineering work, there will be no Bakerloo line or London Overground services operating through Wembley Central station.
This work also means there will be no interchange with London Overground or Tube services at either Watford Junction or Harrow and Wealdstone.
Supporters are advised to remain on National Rail services to Euston and, on arrival, walk approximately five minutes to nearby Euston Square station and use London Underground westbound Metropolitan line services direct to Wembley Park, which is a short walk from the stadium.
Anyone able to simplify above ?
Flying to Gatwick
Express to Victoria station
Where to from there?
Victoria line tube 1 stop to Green Park, switch to Jubilee line tube to Wembley Park
One stop on the Victoria Line to Green Park.
Change to the Jubilee Line all the way to Wembley Park.
