Other than the couple of mistakes with his feet, I’ve been happy enough with his performances. That said I’m looking forward to Alisson coming back
I know it's the done thing to look at a keepers mistake and say "Alisson would never have made it" and I generally roll my eyes when I hear it but Alisson wouldnt have made that mistake yesterday, and neither would Mingolet for that matter. Adrian is still very new to working with VVD and the instinct of having to help out his centre backs in a way he would have in every other team he's played with probably kicked in. I don't think Alisson or Mingolet misjudge that situation yesterday and I think the likelihood of Adrian misjudging a similar one again got a lot smaller and in a way will make him a better keeper for us.
Yeah he’s done well but if ings scores that sitter and the game finishes 2-2 and arsenal go 1 up yesterday and we only manage a draw we could be sitting on 5 points instead of 9 and it’s a different story. As it is he got away it and we’ve had the perfect start.
This sounds worrying https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/fi...qk1mW0iaBoeygbUXlImDRkHRITPHSum-M15vWL7S5ZIlU
Was hoping he’d be back after the international break or at the latest after the Newcastle game before Napoli and Chelsea away
Puts to bed the rumour of a ruptured Achilles anyway - ah the aul Twitter, facebook rumours ye gotta love them ;-)
Achterberg on Alisson... “Ali has been working with Dave [Rydings] in the gym a lot to improve the strength and try to keep the fitness levels up,” he said. “In the last few days he has been out on the pitch to do some catching and footwork, as well as small passing drills. “He has made steady progress, but it is difficult to say how long it will take or how it will progress. It needs time and we cannot look too far ahead, so we take each day as it comes, see how he feels, and then make progress from that.”
Klopp: Alisson is improving but we can't put any pressure on him. It was a serious injury in the calf but now it's much better. We don't know exactly. The target was always after the next international break.
