    Rail and Sail home from Euston to Dublin Stena Port is available for £44.50. Depart Euston at 20:25 Arrive Dublin Port at 05:30.

    An excellent alternative route for after the match to high priced flights close to Christmas. Will be my own route after the match getting back to Ireland.

    Might suit someone if they were not aware of this travel option.

    Flight home from Stansted is 77 pound. Slightly dearer but a lot less travelling and home a lot earlier

    Not so bad at £77. Probably should have explained that I am flying out of Knock on the morning of the match (getting a lift to the airport). A Sunday night flight into Dublin would not get me home on public transport. The Knock flight on the Sunday morning into Stansted was cheap and no need to travel through the night to get to Dublin airport.

    My route home means I can get the Sligo train before 7am in Connolly station on the Monday morning.

    That £77 fare is better than I expected. Some of the Monday flights I had looked at if I stayed over back into Knock were massive money.

    I made a balls of booking the flights. As soon as the fixture was announced for the Sunday I booked for 2 of us. There was 1 seat left at that fare so I booked separately. When I booked the second flight I ended up booking the flight home on the Monday and by the time I copped it the Sunday evening flight had gone up. So instead of saving money it ended up costing me extra changing it back
