It was the only place to go for some brown suede shoes in the early 90s according to my classmates at the time. Went for Doc Martens myself.
Just wondering what the best result in Chelsea /Leicester match would be if we pick up 7 from last 9? I know Leicester have Spurs with Kane after golden boot but Chelsea have Villa away with Grealish now back and European Cup final around the corner. Going to be an interesting next 10 days
A 1 goal win for Chelsea is the worst. Anything else and we have it in our own hands. Chelsea by 1 will still need Leicester to beat Spurs by 3 providing we only win our 3 games by 1 goal. I can't see how Leicester can win on Tuesday, that squad will be hanging. I can Chelsea resting players in the FA Cup final after the last 2 nights results.
Only just found out that the afcon is in January next year, didn't know that. Surely that's going to have a big effect on Liverpool's season if no Salah or mane (or naby) for a period.
Yes and I think they go off a week or two before it starts so the guts of a month or more. I see the Copa America is on the this summer so the Brazilian lads will be off at that. Seems like it's on every summer.
Can you believe that game still absolutely bugs the life out of me? It shouldnt as we have been really successful since but there is something about that game that I dont think I will ever get over. Possibly the great run to the final and beating Man Utd and Dortmund and then the brilliant semi final at Anfield and for me I cant look on them as fondly as I should because we never won the cup.
After 28 games we were on 43 points, Leicester were on 56 points(after 29 ganes) , ten games later we finiish on 69 points(3 ahead of Leicester)
This team good enough to win the title next year? Alisson Trent Gomez VVD Robbo Fab Hendo Thiago Salah Bobby Mane
16 years ago today best Champions League final of all time Was walking around the Blue mosque not knowing what was ahead of us - what a trip!
Was just watching the goals there! A bunch of us were watching it in my gaff, I remember we had all kept the same seats for every champions league match and it was that ritual that won it, Stevie has us to thank . I fcked some of the lads out of it at half time saying they had to get out if they weren't going to support the team. We all went into town after the match and I think I staggered in to my scum supporting boss at about quarter to 12 the next morning. He was NOT happy. Best footballing night of my life.
Watched it in the local. Place was buzzing. After Stevie scored I went for a piss thinking I won't miss much. Missed Smicers goal. 3 Italian birds were at the table behind us and there was plenty of banter until we equalised and I turned round to them and they had legged it. (Story of my life) Went to the club across the road later and asked the bouncer if I could get in with my jersey on. I got the nod and went in to a sea of red. Almost everyone had Liverpool top on. Next day, I couldn't speak as I lost my voice from all the roaring and shouting. Can't believe it's 16 years.
there are places I remember all my life. The older I get I realize how special a night/trip it was, probably because I was sat with my old man, I'm sure there were other dad and lads there too but not many. still remind him that he wanted to get off at HT.
Remember getting up the next morning and there was massive donar kebab in the fridge with one bite out of it, straight into the microwave and cracked open a can at 10am watched game from start to finish again. Just clicked with me that I had put a few a quid on at 25/1 in the group stages. Had thought about in the weeks leading up to it but in the drama and lock-in after the game, it had slipped my mind. Celebrated it all over again and booked a holiday to Turkey (Kusedasi) the next day with the winnings. Went on the sauce that day too. Ripped the piss out of it that weekend as well. Brilliant times.
the Gerry Ryan show rang me in Istanbul the morning after the match, I had been on to them a few weeks before that after the semi final. would love to hear that interview again.
