Blaming the opposition for not doing more to stop your party implementing their policies is an interesting take on the situation :)

I think it’s fairly interesting that opposition parties in general (SF and Labour) mainly are not really taking any position on the opening up of the country. They could be and I have missed but it’s always with hindsight when mistakes are made.
Would be interesting to hear what they would have done differently and what they would do over next 2-3 months. I don’t watch a lot of the late night shows so again may have missed it but any time I have seen a SF TD pushed by a presenter, they have been fairly on the fence when it comes to the Covid response.

Are they pro or anti things like the hotels, the vaccine strategy, ignoring of hospitality as examples

Too risky to take a balls out stance....well it is for Sinn Fein anyway. Wouldn't be clever politics. Leaving it to the experts, hammering the government when them going against the experts advice turns out to be a mistake and making hay from the snail pace of the vaccine roll out is where its at. Social Democrats and PBP were very vocal on going for zero covid, I've no idea where Labour are either and the likes of Peadair Tobin was always going to be going all out on opening back up. He's chasing the hard right vote so he's no choice. There's a few independents attacking lockdowns too.

Read yesterday that Announcement by end of this week for May and June.

The Mirror had an exclusive that hotels were set to reopen after the June Bank Holiday at some stage at the weekend but they keep updating with new info. For some reason they seem to be getting a lot of info from this government this year.

With all the focus on donegal for obvious reasons. Was in my mother in laws Estate, she pointed to me a kid tested postivie about 6/7 days ago out playing with other kids, her ma sitting in front garden watching her not 2 fecks given. The other kids mothers pulled them in straight away. Not the kids fault. But jesus Christ makes your blood boil

Back to work next Monday for the first time since December 24th.

Not looking forward to it at all but it will be good to get back into the swing of things all the same.

I always feel like I am being judged when I tell people I have enjoyed the time off. It wont be long before we are in work wishing we had more time off :)

I think the key is trying to have things to do most days and have a purpose to the day

Just to be clear it was the teachers unions that were jumping up and down about it. I know quite a few teachers and most of them felt that it wasn't that big of an issue to their colleagues but the teachers I know are all around my age group and maybe not particularly in danger from this virus so maybe an older cohort might have very different views.
