I don't think Klopp has fancied Wilson for a long. When he was the shining light under age he has brought others like Woodburn through. I think he has great talent but just not the required work ethic for JK and also lacks pace.
Must admit, I don't think I've ever noticed him being off the pace, but then again, I wasn't watching out for it, I suppose. Were he playing for LFC perhaps it might have been obvious, whereas playing with another team that might be slower, he might not have appeared slow.
Looking at the training camp videos and photos , he doesn’t seem to be with the squad Is he injured or could we have a buyer lined up
I think that his contract ends next year, so that's him gone on a free, when his loan spell ends... Unless we sign him up to a new deal, which seems fairly unlikely.
Think it was five years in 2018 so still 2 To go. No way Edwards would be Letting potential 20-30 million young player walk. https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/306582-harry-wilson-new-contract-liverpool If you look online his current contract with Cardiff expires end of this season rather than LFC one.
His record has been decent wherever he's gone on loan... He's not a superstar, but he's gotta be deserving of a place on our bench, when you look at some of the other options and how they've been performing. Our midfield is also going to be a bit lighter next season, with Gini gone, Milner another year older etc That said, for reasons that I'll never understand, Klopp would probably put a ten man team out, rather than play him.
He's got a great strike on him and excellent dead ball delivery. Has nowhere near the pace required to play in our front 3 or the physical attributes to play in our midfield 3. So I'm not surprised Klopp thinks he has better options in his squad. He'll be a good signing for a championship club or one in the bottom half of the Premier league. Hopefully we get a few quid for him.
We'll get close to 12 million for him. It might be later in the window when clubs start to panic, but we'll get it.
