Program on BBC now about the Quinn group and all the goings on up on the border. Fucked up doesn't start to describe it. I haven't yet foggiest idea what's going on and why.

Just watched this. Some very upsetting scenes in it. There is a repeat just about to start on BBC2 NI at 23:15.

He's untouchable and arrogant as fuck.
That doesn't explain why he thought it was a good idea to do the interview though.

"Rolls Royce" Rural Broadband Costs €6,000 Per House

    So, we've no money for:

    - building houses
    - building schools
    - employing more nurses and doctors
    - employing more teachers
    - paying our defense forces a half decent wage
    - reducing our massive national debt

.... but we've no problem paying €6,000 per house to run cables up every farm yard in the country ?

Talk about an attempt to buy votes before an election !

Another reason to vote the current lot out is all that this is.

It is a really weird industry. I live in the country but about 25 minutes from Cork City. There are probably about 20 houses on my road. It's not like we are in the wilds of connemara or anything. There is no fibre and the nearest exchange is 7 miles away so via standard phone lines we get about 1gb broadband. Luckily we have line of sight wireless broadband which gives us about 12gb. Thing is, one of the commercial providers is bringing fibre halfway along our road (serves about 5 of the 20 houses) and then stopping. Even if it were to pass the road by my house I understand there would be a connection fee of several hundred euro to get from the road up the driveway to my house. I think we'll be sticking with the line of sight broadband for the foreseeable future....

16 people found alive in a truck bound for Rosslare. The driver alerted while the boat at sea. Cops waiting for boat to dock at 3pm. Thankfully this time none of those found have any health issues.

I saw loads of folks Facebook commenting to send them straight back etc. These same people likely would be calling Donald Trump a disgrace for throwing Irish Illegals out of the US. Some people in this country have a short memory of how Irish people spread throughout the world looking to better themselves.

Sadly, very true, when it comes to repeat offenders and those who commit serious crimes.

I think the state works on a variation of the 80 : 20 rule, whereby once it keeps 80% of us within the law, it's happy ....even if the 80% of us are not, given what the other 20% seem to be able to get away with.

I would say that the application of correct sentences is too varied. In some cases you have people committing vile crimes and getting low sentences however you also have people commuting relatively low level Crimes and getting similar sentences.

It all depends on the judge
