It's not so much compatibility I'm talking about Bob,but more the levels being produced. I dont think Barca would pay 142m for the Coutinho who turns out for Brazil even though he's still an excellent player. Coutinho,Gotze,Kagawa,Gundogan, Hummels... all varying degrees of success but none of them up to the same standards they reached in Klopps team. Not that players can't reach the same level elsewhere but theres a big chance you wont get it from players leaving a team where nobody is more important than the system.
Anfield Edition @AnfieldEdition 1h1 hour ago Due to a surplus of options in midfield, Maurizio Sarri has told Emre Can he is no longer needed at Juventus, prompting interest from Bayern Munich and PSG. Sarri wouldn’t intend to use Can on a regular basis. [Daily Mail]
Never understood his signing for Juve, never seen anything too special in the chap as a midfielder, not a top class passer, not a top class touch, doesn't have that great awareness some possess. His biggest asset is his size and driving forward with the ball, it's easily negated against a top quality team.
As free transfers go he can't have been cheap. It came out afterwards that it cost us less to get Fabinho than it would have cost to get Can to stay.
At that price, we would never have done it. Because it's unlikely he'd start enough to make the permanent deal worthwhile, which mean we just spend €20M keeping their asset warm...
Utd should have sold Pogba first week of transfer window and have brought in Neves and Maddison with the money. Those 2 would get in any side outside top 4 without a doubt
So yes, another James - moved around because no-one will stump up the cash to sign, but too good to ignore.
Sanchez away to Inter on loan. Has to be one of the worst transfers in history. Utd probably still paying over half is wages
Apparently Inter will pay £175k a week of his salary. That's of a total of £390k. It's going to take years for Utd to get their house in order with the nonsense that's gone on there. Hopefully Woodward makes another few big signings like this to keep things as they are.
I read yesterday in the Guardian that he is on £20m per year and Inter wanted to contribute €3m, Utd wanted them to pay €6m. That's insane.
I read that Sanchez will still be there second highest earner even though he is gone off on loan, he must really be poison when they are willing to loan him out even being so short up front, long may it last.
This is a classic Inter move for a "big name". They always loved splashing the cash and showing off to prove their worth. They are intimidated by Juve, and formerly Milan when they were dominant. It'll all end in tears (or at least no trophies)
Read today ManU are left with 15 players over the age of 21. They're already under huge pressure which is not going to make things easy for the young lads and they've the Europa League to manage. I think Solksjaer should have held onto some of the "dead wood" as theres 2 CL spots wide open and a bit of experience from those extra bodies could have made the difference. No top 4 and De Gea and Pogba will be on their way next summer, the closest thing they have to world class players plus you never know who else, bad seasons at big clubs can create a lot of trouble in the dressing room and the mixture of no CL and those players leaving will make it much harder to attract the level of talent they need to challenge us and City. ManU fans seem happy enough with the players being released, after all they want a huge rebuild like everybody does when their team underperforms and if Solksjaer does manage top 4 he'll have created more funds for his kitty by moving on so many, but it's a big gamble that personally I'd say has more chance of putting them further behind than where he started from. We've seen how Klopp used players who he knew ultimately wouldnt be good enough to help him achieve top 4 and make it easier to integrate the new signings. To be fair we've also seen him taking gambles and leave himself short in certain positions and it worked for him but let's be honest,Solksjaer is no Klopp.
