It's plain to see pats are going nowhere under Kenny. Hopefully once we're done in Europe he's sent on his way if not sooner. Horrible to watch every week

Just read Bohs are charging 250 lids to be a mascot at their game v Chelsea. A bit off brand no? I've been impressed with the work they're doing in schools and in the community in general and I dont begrudge them making a few quid out of a glamour friendly but this comes across as taking advantage of a kids love of a football club. Granted for most of those kids the club they love is probably Chelsea and not Bohs but it's still bad form imo to make that opportunity so expensive.

Na I've no issue here, any Bohs fan can be a mascot 20 times per season for a nominal donation to the juvenile section. You've hit the nail on the head there in that it is all Chelsea fans that will be taking it up and it's expected to fill up. 22 mascots pays for the much needed striker we need to bring in for the remaining 14 games. At the end of the day you are not charging for their dying supper, it is an opportunity for a parent to take up should they want it, I certainly wouldn't. Kids tickets to see the game were €15 so they are not being denied the rights to watch it. Contrary to what I would have thought, Chelsea take a significant 5 figure sum for an appearance fee, the agent that brought the game about takes most of the pie so the actual revenue streams for Bohs and Pats revolve around sponsorship, shifting shirts, merchandise and the shops.

    It was indeed :(
your keeper was outstanding. We were too lackadaisical in front of goal, on another night we bang in 3 or 4, but wasn't to be.
Shligo defenders threw everything in front of shots, certainly earned their point.

    Off to Noway tomorrow :)

It's still exploiting a kids love of a football team Shane and the "its parents who will be shelling out" argument is a massive red herring as kids generally dont have their own income. If you get a new striker out of it then theres a false advertising issue too because all the advertising says the proceeds will be going into bohemian youth so I hope that's not the case. I fully understand that the club needs to raise money from this and that it's not Bohs responsibility to offer kids who are Chelsea fans the opportunity to be a mascot, but you chose to offer them that experience. In the grand scheme of things it's not a major issue because as you say kids are still getting the chance to watch Chelsea for 15 euros but it's still exploitation and I expected a bit better from Bohs when it comes to kids, even ones who support Chelsea.

It's a massive con job by all the LOI teams , bohs are no Angel's in this and had the neck to charge I think €20 to a.second strung reserve game vs the pool a few years back
Suppose when they get fcuk all.support from the FAI as do all clubs then they have to profiteer somehow
    Not for my liking though

Robbie, Bohs nor Pats set the price for this, nor did they for previous games. The process is an agency come to the clubs with the proposal clubs take or leave. Get a % of revenue and capitalise on sponsorship and merchandise etc.

The 2019 African Cup of Nations final will be screened in Dalymount grounds on Friday 19th July. Its an 8 o'clock kick off, live from Cairo. Entry is free with food and music. There will be a bus running from both Clondalkin and Finglas Direct Provision centres. https://t.co/EvaOO3N1R5

More of the great work in the community from Bohs that I mentioned. I think they've got it wrong with the mascot situation but overall they're getting it right.

Great result for Bohs tonight. Was no fluke either stood up to them Chelsea lads and actually played some good stuff. Don’t care that it wasn’t their first team, they still had decent players like Caballero, Azpilicueta, Drinkwater, Ampadu, Kenedy, Pedro, Batshuayi etc. Even more proud than I was before to be a Bohs fan.

Wait till some right wing nut gets their hands on this one, charging Irish kids €250 to be a mascot so that they can host a free event for the "immigants" as Moe Syzlack would call them.

Eir are showing the return leg and Pat's one as well. Great trip to Bergen, amazing city, uber-expensive but worth the trip for that last minute equaliser :)
got what we deserved I felt, we caused our own problems for both goals but they didn't put us under any real sustained pressure.
We were guilty of overplaying at times but I was delighted for Pico to grab the goal after he gave away the pen.

In a good position to progress, if we play to our strengths we will score a couple, their fans seem very downbeat and have a real axe to grind with their manager, so here's hoping that feeds into their performance.

Pity Pats and the Carkies look toasted, dundaaaaalk have a bit to do as well, not the best week for the league regarding ranking points.
