See it the same But don’t feel we have a player in the squad to back up the front three even Origi who I rate highly It’s probably my main concern
I'm not worried. It probably defeats the purpose of a football discussion forum a little bit I'm ok with whatever Klopp decides to do or decides we need in terms of personnel.
He might be Irish Kop. He has form for shooting his mouth off. However, both Pepe and Timo Werner are stated to be moving this summer and nothing seems to be happening. Could be a good or a bad sign for us.
Fully agree that Klopp likes smaller squads but in my humble opinion a huge mistake if we don’t add two quality players. I hope I’m wrong but if we go into the season with the same squad I don’t see it catching City. The reason will be depth and injuries which are guaranteed to come . Hope I’m wrong!
Think if anyone comes in , it’s going to be a exceptional talent that’s probably on our radar and be monitored and something happens that we decide to act earlier than expected Or we lose one our first team regulars which I doubt this window
Melissa Reddy reporting Liverpool beaten the likes of psg, dortmund and madrid to sign Harvey Elliott off fulham, dont know much about him only 16 one for the future probably sign and go back out on loan type deal if true of course.
I'm worried about squad depth if we don't sign a striker and full back. Obviously we all trust Klopp but we are still allowed to have concerns . There were times last season when we were light, notably with the right back position. During the season and particularly late on that can happen but to go in to the start of the season with some question marks would be a worry for me. So I think we will see signings before the deadline.
cant see him turning down such sides to play in our u18s , must have been promised a few first team Games or at least on the squad and training with the first side
I think he'll definitely see plenty of time training with the first team but he wouldn't be close to any of those clubs first teams either and even if I was a neutral I'd be saying Liverpool is by far the best option out of those you listed. If anything they'd be the ones having to make big promises to turn his head away from us. Only Madrid are as big as us and it would be a very silly 16 year old English lad who'd choose that move over us.
Was thinking about the possibility of Coutinho coming back. It struck me that even at say 100 mill it might actually be bang for the buck. The general consensus is that we're lacking a play maker as well as being short up front along with full back cover. Does a Coutinho return kill 2 birds with one stone? Play maker roll from deep in the games needed as well as filling in up front should one or more of the front 3 become injured or need resting. I think between the front 3, Div and Coutinho we'd be covered not forgetting Brewster. Pie in the sky I know but something worth considering. Pros - knows the system, the League and the club inside out. Cons - a prick for leaving.
Its not going to happen but speaking hypothetically, his wages would be a problem. He's probably earning 2m a year (at least) more than our highest earner.
A sacrifice worth taking he might think? Hypothetical yes. He could be the superstar they thought they were buying this coming season or end up on a bigger wage at PSG. Who knows in the fickle world of football. I just see a transfer worth considering given where we think we're short.
I honestly don't see it as a transfer Klopp would be interested in even if the figures made sense, which I also don't think they would.
If I recall right klopp mentioned the numbers offered to make him stay. He certainly rated him highly within his team. As I said, the sense being getting a player who covers 2 positions that may need filling within the first team (opposition depending) and squad.
