Going to be tense this one. Alisson TAA Matip VVD Robertson Fabinho Henderson Wjnaldum Salah Firmino Mane Mane been the main man in 2019 and he could give their back line trouble. Hope they come out and attack
Durty rotters. Hate losing to these, thankfully can't see it happening this time. Would like Milner to start the game here, not sure how Klopp will fit him in though.
I think they will attack! Assuming fergie isn't meddling too much in the background, reckon the new manager is a little naive, he'll want to contrast with Jose, and stay true to their "attacking principles" for this one. Will be a great occasion. Really intense. They'll be desperate to derail the title challenge. The referee is going to get dogs abuse. If he can avoid giving out any dodgy penos or red cards we'll get a result.
Must get something out of this game. Our game in hand and I’d take a point now to go back top. If we lose is obviously out of our hands then. If we win we have to be favorites for the title.
They are flying it in the league but they have gone through an incredible run of games where Spurs were the only tough team they had to play in over ten games. Granted they beat them but it shows what an injection of confidence can do. They have turned inside out since Jose left which is what I feared. At home to us they obviously would like nothing more than claiming they derailed our title shot. They will throw everything at us. Herrera and Young will foul and will hope they can get away with it at old trafford. The crowd will be rabid. Need a tough ref. I am never confident going into these games because we never seem to get the home decisions at Anfield that these cnnnuts get at ot. We are well overdue a win and a rub of the green against these but I can't help but be very nervous. Please please please score 4 goals in the first 15 minutes, anything less than that and it's going to be a tough watch.
Nothing will be won or lost in the league on the back of this game but it could take it out of our own hands which is not good when you're up against a team as ominously good as City but this is a great chance to really show our mettle in this title race. I think it's going to be as big an occasion for them as it is for us unfortunately and the squads are probably not too far apart so we really need to be on it. They've buckets of pace up top but they do seem to be coughing up a fair few chances at the back so it will be about putting them where De Gea can't get them, he'll save anything that is savable. If we don't win this game there's going to be a serious ratcheting up of the hype from the media about how Utd have taken the league title from Liverpool.
Thats how I'd line up and I think they'll struggle against it if they play the diamond they did at Chelsea. Plenty on the bench to change things if needs be but we're a better team than them and if we turn up on the day they're not getting anything without luck.
More like a shed load. If we get half the chances Spurs got then we'll walk it. Not a hope this will happen mate. Say we draw and go back to the top with 11 games to go, how on earth can people say they've stopped us winning the league? Never mind the media seems like our own fans should take a breath or two and look at the bigger picture
Taking into account nothing will be won or lost on Sunday and the league is played out over 38 games from August to May!!!!!
The couple of times they've come up against tactically astute teams with similar quality of individuals since Solksjaer arrived, they've struggled. You couldn't fault his tactics the other night but it has to be weighed against Chelsea being so disjointed. Our midfield all hitting peak fitness and their best form is bad news for them and Hererra wont be coming off the pitch with the plaudits he did on Monday.Pogba will be anonymous for much of it like he is in every big game but it's about making sure he doesn't hurt you in those moments he gets involved. I'm actually a bit jealous of ManU,City and Chelsea fans for Sunday. They all have a cup final to look forward to and it's just another league game for us
Whatever about drawing the game, if we lose you can be guaranteed that will be the angle from the media and it will be nothing to do with our fans. At the moment we are the only team in the league who can say win all our games and we win the league. If we lose, we cannot say that. Yes there are loads of games left but it would be naive to say that the media won't make a meal of that fact.
Is that the PSG game only Babbs? The only other team I can think of them playing was Spurs but I think they won that away. But the PSG game was so one sided that I do have hope that we can get a win here, if they're as tactically open against us we have a good chance of getting a win but I'd still see the game as at best 50:50. They've a lot of attacking talent and some real pace that can really hurt you if they get on top.
If they set up like Bayern did I think we could struggle. They are at home though, they sacrificed Fellaini as a sign of the old Utd being back so I don't think he has the balls to play the way they should. If Herarra, Matic or Young cross the half way line we will roast them.
Spurs was the other game Ed and the Vatican are investigating that result but let's take emotion out of it for a second and look at things rationally. If you do that you don't need the PSG game to have hope we can win there and you can probably even get beyond giving us a 50/50 chance at best of winning, and I'm genuinely not trying to patronise you here mate. We're the best team in the league on form this season because we've taken more points per game than anybody else. We have the best defence in the league and it's miles better than theirs. We've a better attack than theirs. Mane is in just as good as form as Rashford and Salah is the best player in either squad. Our midfield is a match for theirs individually and functions better than theirs in the context of each teams overall system which is a big reason we're as dangerous going forward as them but give up far less chances. There's probably more context to be added and very reasonable arguments to be made about why we might not win or even lose that I'll leave for other people to make, but what's not even up for debate is that we're a better team than they are with a better manager. So if Klopp gets his tactics right and the players turn up,we'll win probably 8 times out of 10. No matter what happens on Sunday I don't think anything I've said there is untrue and "at best,50/50" suggests they're the favourites here but they're not pal.
Overall the league does indicate all of what you're saying but in the pockets of form that both teams are in the context of more recent form suggests that under their new management they're looking a lot better than their current league position suggests. I'd hazzard a guess that if you isolated the table since their new management came in that they'd be a bit ahead of us points wise even thought we ourselves had an incredible December. They've faced relative minnows in the league during that period of course which I'm hoping is the reason for that run of wins and other than Spurs, Chelsea and PSG they haven't really faced anyone of note but regardless of current form this is still an away game in Old Trafford for us which will always be a tough game. I completely agree that we've the better manager, but I've always had this suspicion that he's not a guy that tends to get the breaks that he needs when he needs them thought but hopefully this weekend isn't one of them. I'd say the pesky media are salivating at the thoughts of us losing this one, they've got headlines ready to go already for it. Anyway more than anything I hope you're right and that we batter them at the weekend.
I am right Ed and the result won't alter that,no matter what it is. My point is not that anybody should ignore everything that enhances the argument supporting ManU's chances because of course they've a good chance of winning, just that unemotional analysis makes us favourites.
Our hardest game away from home left on paper. They will be playing this like there champion league final so every player will be up for this, mainly Fergie and ole be in every player ear making sure they don't help us get no 19. I don't think ole will sit back. We nullify podga and we win. Hopefully the front 3 are more active than during week. We have to start in front foot and leave everything on pitch. Im at stage we have to win and not get a draw here, let's do this red men please especially against this mob
