I don't think that's even up for debate at this point!

Anyone think each time he comes on at the end of the games we get more nervous ? Maybe he is taking Klavans role as Klopp used to bring him on at the end of all the games last season.

I find these subs strange, Klavan was generally coming on to make it a 5, Matip has been replacing TAA. Subbing anyone in the back 4 should be avoided unless it's necessary imo. The message these subs send is we have now decided to stop playing, we were bumming them bad, just keep doing it ffs.

James Pearce piece in echo more or less gives him no chance for weekend with him saying Lovern will come in and TAA a major doubt with Milner, who went off with cramp, or Fabinho likely to have to slot in at right full.

That's really horrific timing for Matip and for ourselves of course, Fabinho is going to be providing cover there now I'd imagine.

To lose two CB's at the same time for such a long stint is very hard to plan for, we may sign someone but I imagine they'll arrive too late for Klopp to bother with it as it would be mid January before you'd expect to have someone ready to go and they'd be pretty much back at that point.

Might be mistaken but I think Masterson is getting more game time than Philips at the moment. He may only be back from injury.

    Fabinho do a job there?

Disaster especially with such a busy schedule ahead.

Playing very well at the moment. Looks back to the player we saw in his first season, better even

He is cursed by his body looks awkward but has actually played very well. Picked a good time to get back to his best form. Can only imagine once Gomez is 100% he will make way?

It's mad how people see the game differently. I thought that was the old Matip last night, stupid decision making on a couple of occassions (including for the goal), a couple of dopey headers that nearly got us into trouble and weak physically against Long. One good dribble and a couple of good challenges in the box.

I like his confidence and he backs himself most of the time. However he's not quite as good as he thinks he is unlike VVD so gets himself into a bit of bother.

I have no major problem with any of the 3 lads who partner Virgil apart from their injury records which is poor. Stats may prove otherwise but they seem to struggle to play more than 5 in a row
