Just curious, is it any easier to get to Hull from Ireland for a day trip than it was in December 2013? What potential routes are you looking at Gary?
It seems to be handy enough through Leeds Lionel with the train journey less than an hour. Some good value there as well.In 2013 the early kick off didn't help and I'm not sure if the train would have got us to the game on time.It was a great trip despite the result although the drive back to the airport seemed to take forever. Some excellent navigating by you that day as always1
Yes, I think train connections were very poor for that particular Sunday. Funniest moment I remember about the trip was Gavin's friend waking up after a snooze and being told that we were on our way to Holyhead as we had missed the return flight. No matter what direction you are coming from driving to Leeds-Bradford airport the last 20 minutes do take forever.
I thought that was Gavin that got tricked.Either way his reaction was priceless! Leeds Airport proved useful to me on more than one occasion last season even though it is in the middle of nowhere.Distance wise I think it is fairly similar to both Burnley and Hull.
Was indeed Gavin, John's friend. Your way out in your distances, Burnley 34 miles, Hull 72 miles. Burnley slowest journey ever, up and down Yorkshires dales, in and out of loads of little villages and Hertz having to pay a lad overtime just to open the desk for us that day. If some of these destinations were easy to get to they journey would be far less fun. Did have a look at Doncaster airport for Hull, flybe operate from Dublin, not Saturday's and only one flight a day, think it is the closest airport.
Last ryanair flight out of Manchester sat night. £15. Book the train to picadilly not the airport. only £12 at the minute.
Also looking for two for this lads if anyone can help out after the lads who asked first are sorted. Probably an allocation of 2400 ish for this but should be more really cause they have not sold out all season.
