Was really disappointed in suicide squad has high hopes. The editing was shocking 1st half of the movie, few scenes in it had me sighing & the whole movie is like one big music video. I'm sure there was a movie in there somewhere but with the re writes & editing farmed out Warner Brothers fucked it up. Funny how they did a back story on all of the suicide squad except for slip knot, he just turns up gets out of a car & punches a woman in the face. That's not the only scene a woman gets punched in the face ethier bit of violence against women in this movie. 5/10
Definately not a great year. Batman V superman and Suicide Squad were meant to be the block busters however neither got great reviews.
While not outstanding I thought Suicide Squad was decent. Whats NOT to like about Margo Robbie. Head and shoulders above the rest as the best female DC characterization in film - although granted the competition isnt exactly hectic. The film suffers from trying to document far too many characters backgrounds, trying to have 11 main characters and is constantly switching focus. Would have been better to focus on say one or two (a la Avengers - Cap and Stark getting pissy at each other while saving the world, the rest of the gang are there in supporting roles) Kind of feel sorry for Leto who I thought was very good as Joker but everyone is going to suffer in comparison to Heath Ledgers portrayal. Still its worth a watch. Anyone seen "The Shallows"? As a certified shark nut I'm really looking forward to it.
I do too. I think the fact a lot of his stuff got cut out of the movie in editing which reduced his character to basically a supporting role has a lot to do with that. Everyone has their own favourite Joker anyway mines actually Mark Hammill's Joker from the animated series.
War Dogs with Jonah Hill is very good. Knew nothing about it and just rocked up to cinema after work.
Finally got round to seeing Suicide Squad. Its watchable but definitely didn't life up to the hype. I've gone from cinema a couple of times a week to once in the the last month. A baby really does change things!!
I liked Midnight Special. Nothing remarkable about it and Michael Shannon is more suited to playing a bad guy but I enjoyed it anyway. Kirsten Dunst is very good again.
Hunt for the wilderpeople is brilliant comedy 98% on metatric 100% on rotten tomatoes and 5/5 from empire really fun film.
Yep, Liked it. Definitely worth watching. Loads of laughs. Also saw Don't Breathe. Very tense but it got a little silly at the end.
Had a few hours to kill waiting for flight yesterday and went to see Bridget Jones Baby. Went in with low expectations however was actually funny enough. 7/10 Renee Zellwegger now looks like Stifflers mom would have looked like in her 40s. Watched The Nice Guys tonight. Did not like it at all to be honest. 5/10 Reminded me of Inherent Vice which I also disliked a lot.
Has anyone seen the Bobby Sands film 66 Days...and better still, have a watchable link for it? Been trying on Kodi for months but every time I click on it it shows some bloody thing about England winning the World Cup in '66!!
Good stuff, Have seen a lot of middle of the road movies of late, little to write home about though.... have The Infiltator near the top of my list now
