Julien Laurens @LaurensJulien · 5m Divock Origi on his way to Liverpool too (not physically obviously). Should be loaned back to Lille. Great business for all three parties. Collymore reporting it too, Barrett was reporting yesterday. Looks like this is pretty close, talk of a 10m deal and loan back to Lille for a year.
Tony Barrett @TonyBarretTimes · 1m Liverpool moving rapidly in the transfer market. Deals for Origi & Lallana almost done and now a move for Benfica's Lazar Markovic too.
I hope he's playing out wide for Lille cause that's a piss poor strike rate in a very average league.
Absolutely no idea, never knew he existed until I seen his two impressive sub appearances for Belgium. Scored in a game I didn't see. Don't like his goals/appearances ratio in that league one bit though. Saying that he could be playing out wide, or making 5 minute cameos for all I know.
According to Lille's official site he made 12 league starts (subbed off 10 times), and 18 sub appearances last season scoring 5 times, so his goals per minutes isnt at all bad, and has looked decent in his appearances in the world cup.
this signing is the type of signing Chelski would make, take a punt of £6-10m on the next bright young thing and then loan him out. Hadn't seen the lad before the WC but one thing that struck me is that he's built like a tank for a 19 Year old. Obviously also he's a full International at 19 which is very impressive. Happy out with this signing, good to see the players coming in.
here you go kid, he played 1,285 minutes so basically 14 games in game time and scored 5 goals. http://anfieldindex.com/9037/stats-report-divock-origi.html? The stats say 5 goals in 30 games ( but he had 18 subs appearances - which seem to average about 15 minutes per game roughly ). So basically he scored 5 in 12 starts and had 18 brief cameos off the bench.
That looks a lot better. He has looked good in the two brief world cup appearances I seen him play. Tall, fast, strong & he scored in a game I didn't see too. Must be quite highly rated by the coach of Belgium too, cause he hooked Lukaku for him in the first game whilst losing or drawing, can't remember which but they were chasing the game and needed a goal.
Ed Malyon Daily Mirror Liverpool have made a £9.8million bid for World Cup sensation Divock Origi, and are now agreeing personal terms with the Belgian's representatives. The 19-year-old has made a splash on the biggest stage with Belgium in Brazil, and the Reds consider the Lille forward one of the most talented young players in Europe. The Anfield transfer committee has sanctioned a structured £9.8million deal for the striker, with a loan-back agreement ensuring he remains at Lille next season where he can still play Champions League football. The son of former Kenya international Mike Origi, Divock was born in Belgium and represented the nation of his birth at every youth level before being fast-tracked into the World Cup squad. Representatives working on behalf of Origi are in England to seal the deal as Liverpool look to further add to summer signing Rickie Lambert and the soon to arrive Emre Can. Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet couldn't speak highly enough of his Belgian compatriot. "He is very, very good," said Mignolet after the 1-0 win over South Korea. "The last couple of games he has come in for us, done a great job and changed the game. "He is a huge prospect, and still only young. "Today when he came onto the pitch he showed his class and helped us win the game. He is an exciting player."
Seen a few people saying that he has more talent than Lukuka and also is a lot more mobile. Will be good for his career him staying on loan and getting regular football too.
Starting tonight for Belgium, looks promising, getting into decent positions and nearly setting up Mertins.
