RTÉ Sport will broadcast the entire FIFA 2023 World Cup from Australia and New Zealand next summer including the Republic of Ireland's historic campaign. RTÉ has successfully secured these broadcast rights for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 through a European Broadcasting Union (EBU) agreement with FIFA covering 28 territories on behalf of 32 EBU member public service broadcasters. Having followed the Republic of Ireland through a thrilling and qualifying campaign, RTÉ will continue its support of Vera Pauw's team by bringing Irish fans all the action from down under free-to-air next summer. Euro 2022 in England, as well as the 2019 World Cup in France were also broadcast by RTÉ. The fixture details for the Republic of Ireland's group games at the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand have been confirmed. Certain details had already been known, but now the match timings have been confirmed for their three clashes. Vera Pauw’s side, who will play all of their fixtures in Australia regardless of how far they progress in the tournament, will open up with a clash with the co-hosts on Thursday 20 July at 8pm local time and 11am Irish time at the Sydney Football Stadium. Their second match against Canada in Perth at the Perth Rectangular Stadium on Wednesday 26 July will also take place at 8pm Australian time, and 1pm Irish time. Their final group game against Nigeria, to be held at the Brisbane Stadium on Monday 31 July, will have an 11am Irish time start, 8pm local time. Ireland's World Cup qualifier against Scotland earlier this month attracted the highest ever TV audience for women's football, attracting 382,000 viewers while RTÉ Player had over 126,000 streams over the course of the qualification campaign. Declan McBennett, Group Head of Sport for RTÉ said: "Having been there on every step of the journey through qualification, we are delighted to be there for the ultimate destination of a women's World Cup. "This team have captured the imagination of generations at home and will no doubt receive a huge Irish backing from the Irish Down Under making the World Cup a thrilling experience."

We've dropped off a bit so I'm not sure it will be enough now, but a decent striker and we'd have qualified for another tournament or two over the last 10 or so years. If we can get back to the level of bang average international team, he could be the difference. There's at least 10-12 bang average teams at every tournament now,and that number will go up. A goalscorer is often what separates those teams from the ones who don't qualify.
Looking forward to this. Wish I was older to have seen Brady to appreciate his greatness. I know the goal against Spurs at White Hart Lane was brilliant but the goal he made in that game by dropping the shoulder, beating the full back and putting the ball on the striker’s head for the goal was world class.
Good interview with Martin O’Neill on Michael Calvin pod. He gets a bad wrap and his time with his Ireland did not end well, however he brought Celtic to highest levels in Europe, Was good with Villa and some brilliant results for Ireland against Germany and Italy. Being there for Robbie Brady goal in Lille in my top 5 all time.
Worked wonders with a bang average Leicester squad, turned bang average players like Neil Lennon and Robbie savage in to internationals.
If the game tonight is anything to go by, you can see why Matt Doherty has had so little game time at Athletico or may be that having little game time is detrimental to his game. He may not favour it but it looks like he has no left foot he is that unwilling to use it.
