Just wondering as this has come up numerous times at work of late, at what point do we genuinely start to think this PL title is home and hosed. I know publicly the majority will say until the trophy is lifted, but whats lads private hunch on it. Atm im not nervous but after the Sheffield game the other nite ive taught if we get to the end of Feb with a double figure lead still intact ill defo believe it ours. Whats others taughts on it out of curiosity?
Celebrate when it's won and not second before. The whole of football is waiting for an implosion. I don't think it will happen, but A lot of injuries at the moment, imagine Two or three key players more get injured, a suspension here or there. I expect a bump or two in the next few months. The current level is not sustainable.
I'll be honest in saying that I think it's over, we've done the hard yards and we've enough games left against the weaker teams to make it impossible for us to be caught. City last year looked like every game was winnable for them, the only question was whether they could sustain a long enough run, this season they look like they'll drop plenty more points so even if we do wobble they'll need to put together a run of wins that I just can't see happening. If we lose from here I will genuinely believe we're cursed. But that's just the logical thought process, I'll celebrate nothing until it's mathematically secure but I'm enjoying every moment of this run.
I just wanna get over the next three games relatively unscathed. If it's done by getting nine points it will be enormous but I think its a huge ask, deffo expecting to drop points this month.
I said to myself at a stage when the gap was 7 that if we could come out of the year with that gap in tact I would be happy. To be 13 ahead with a game in hand going into the new year is remarkable. Every year under Klopp I think our worst periods have come at the end of January/start of February and I expect that to happen this year but we have enough of a gap there to allow that wobble. Im not sure if you can last years period a wobble but we dropped more points in that time that at any other stage. Its all about the reaction when we inevitably drop points. We couldn't have asked for a better reaction the last time we dropped points. I will celebrate when Henderson is shuffling his feet with that trophy in hand.
When we are more points ahead than anyone else can mathematically catch Till then nothing is won Been too many teams ourselves included that were ahead and let it slip
I didn’t celebrate in Madrid until I heard the refs whistle and went ballistic, forgetting my carry on bag at my seat in the process I’ll wait until this league is matimatically ours until I do the same again Football is a strange game and it’s not over until it’s over I’m very confident, but how would this group react if we lost two league games in a row, it’s being so long, no one knows We go again at Spurs
I think the league is in the bag and would bet my left testicle on it, but I won't celebrate until we are crowned champions. It will be a bittersweet victory however as I had always hoped that I would be the one to end the drought and lift the trophy as captain.
From now, we can draw 3 games and lose 2 and still get 100 points. I’d say the runner up will get 90. So we can afford to drop points. However, it’s the attitude of the team that is more important than the points we have in the bag. Like the Sheffield utd manager said we are relentless. We leave nothing on the pitch. It’s a joy to watch. Hopefully we will win the league with games to spare and then focus on the European Cup. Hopefully we will be celebrating soon.
Leicester can get 96 max City can get 95 max They have to play each other still so one /both of them are dropping points They ain't getting anything like 90 points as runner up
Agreed, 90 points this season sees us win it by 5 points minimum unless City have a different level in them that we haven't seen yet. Leicester with all due respect won't get to 80.
they only lost 1 game last season and it still wasn't enough, i'd say Klopp has it drilled in to them that they can't afford to even draw games, the intensity won't drop until it's mathematically impossible for anyone else to win it. if that happens that's when we celebrate and by jaysus it will be some celebration.
Correct. When the sums say you cant be caught. Then the title is won. We can celebrate. Not a second before.
You can't actually celebrate something until it happens but I'm enjoying it now for what it is....a procession. People can't help how they feel and if you're afraid to call it as over for fear of a major collapse then that's how you feel but as far as I'm concerned its nailed on and I'm of no mind to treat it as anything else.
It’s done. 100 per cent in my opinion. But won’t turn into a piss head for a month until it’s mathematically done.
Privately i'd say it's done - but no celebrating until trophy is lifted high. My only worry at the moment is WW3 will break out & season is canceled (honestly this went through my mind at 4am last night ... FFS)
