Crazy stuff Gary, it was like McVeigh was trying to keep Belichick guessing but I think it cost them more themselves. Always felt it was a game the Pats would find a way to win, Goff just too inexperienced and losing your only genuine superstar on offence like that was always going to make it an impossible task.
First one I ever watched from start to finish.... like watching tony pulis side away to a Martin o neill team.
Same here ... didn't really enjoy the game. Enjoyed the commentary on BBC though, they were certainly catering for first time viewers.
I think I read that it was the lowest scoring Superbowl in the history of the game, safe to say you picked a bad one to start with On the plus side they can surely only get better from here.
Very defensive game but pats winning made up for it for me. Not a great game for first time viewers but they do get better Brady is a Machine with no signs of stopping and i would expect if he stays healthy that Pats will be back in and around the SuperBowl again next year. On a side note i see there is a new 'Alliance of America Football League' ( https://aaf.com/about ) kicking off next weekend seems to be made up of players that didnt make the NFL, Former NFL players & Coaches, Be interesting yo see if it takes off. NFL Network & CBS 2 of the Big Media outlets carrying the games
I dislike the Patriots intently, they're my Manchester United of the NFL including the surly manager reminding me of that pox Alex Ferguson but Brady has been the best quarter back that has ever lived but he's not the reason they won that game. The defence shutting the Rams down to only a FG is barely believable but Gurley going down made it a lot easier for them. They'll always be there or thereabouts because their division is so weak that they're guaranteed a spot in the playoffs and they've such experience there that they always do enough to get the wins. I'll close again on how much I hate the Patriots.
Kareem Hunt signs for the Browns, standing up for racial prejudice is the only way to be blacklisted in that league it seems.
If Kaepernick was as good as Hunt at his position, he would have gotten a gig for sure. Before the kneeling thing he was in and out of the 49ers line up. He was probably good enough to be a back up for someone but no one wanted that hassle for a back up. If he was in top 5 QBs someone would have taken him. On another note anyone who listened to the Aaron Hernandez podcast, there is another episode up that focuses more on legal drugs players take. It’s fairly mad stats Would recommend anyone to listen to Hernandez pod even if not into the NFL.
There's probably 5-10 QB's starting in the league that Kaepernick is better than but you're of course right that if he was an elite level QB it wouldn't have caused him as much trouble. He was a Superbowl QB only a few years ago though, he's not by any means a bad QB.
Agree at one stage he looked elite but his strength was running and once the top coaches sussed him out, he wasn’t as effective. Funny enough when he was in and out at 49ers near the end, was still always a good fantasy player. Lamar Jackson at Ravens now is a monster fantasy player but in real game he is a bit of liability. Back to Hunt, read a lot about that case and he took some savage abuse from the woman. No excuse for throwing her to the ground but I think it’s slighlty different to Ray Rice who seemed to just lash out with little provocation against his mrs. Check out the internet on Joe Mixon when he was at college. Absolutely Decks a woman allegedly after she refused advances towards her. Far worse than Hunt scenario in my opinion.
Kaep should have had at least a shot to compete somewhere over the last few years - enough terrible QBs have had a shot for it to be ridiculous, even if you think he might not have been good enough. Kyler Murray going to go #1. Come back to me in April.
Kaep should have got his game for Washington this season. It's a farce. On Murray, I like the talent, but he's too small Can't see him going 1 unless someone trades up. But even then, they know the Cards won't draft Murray as they have Rosen. Similar situation for 49ers(Jimmy GQ) and Jets(Darnold). So the Raiders are the team who could pull the trigger, or that's the spot you'd trade up to for a QB. As you know the 3 ahead won't take one.
I think it's a ploy by the Cardinals to try and trade out of 1st spot for the most capital. I can't see anyone outside of the Dolphins trading up to get him. I'd be really really shocked if the Cardinals trade Rosen and take Murray. I still reckon Raiders at 4 get him, or Dolphins at 3 after trading with the Jets for their 1st and 4th this year, and a conditional late 1st/early 2nd next year or something like that.
0% chance Dolphins move up. >0% chance Cards pick him #1. Certainly moving in my direction quickly last 3 weeks!
Sounds like the Steelers releasing info to try and get teams to up their offers or at least get them in. Teams are waiting until after Friday as the Steelers will be due to pay MBC's roster bonus of 2-3mil. Steelers are just very bad at playing the game it seems as everyone can see through their urgency.
Well we finally find out, odds certainly moved in my favour at this stage be massive shock if not #1!
