Before my time but Liam Brady it seems was a magician on the ball and a truly incredible player. Great documentary.
He was outstanding in the 79 cup final. And was a good dribbler and had a great range of passing. Before the offside rule was changed he made a goal for Steve Heighway I think by clipping the ball of a defenders shoulder into Heighways path as he was offside at the time.
Can't see why they'd bother to be honest. He's bang average even up there, won't do a thing to help them progress in Europe and they can get 50 players who'll do as much for them domestically that don't have that baggage.I think they'd be off their rocker to touch him.
The Denmark Away Nations League game in November is fixed for Aarhus, about 3 hours train from Copenhagen. I’m sure a few lads will have been caught with flights/hotels
Best of luck to him but the fact he is even still being considered for selection for Ireland says a lot.
Yeah you are toatally right if he wasn’t retiring he’d be one of the first names one the team sheet I think.
Actually, when I was coming back from Copenhagen in November, we had to make a medical emergency landing in that airport in Aarhus, it is absolutely in the middle of nowhere. It is an indictment of recent management that O'Shea is still a viable option to start qualifiers as he has got older and slower, but no questioning his own desire and commitment in playing for his country, and that is highly commendable. A fantastic servant and never forget the goal in Germany https://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2014/1014/652375-video-john-oshea-scores-a-late-equaliser/ Hugely respected and liked in the dressing room, he will be a big loss to the squad.
Never forget his goal in front of The Kop for United. Was in row 4. They hardly kicked a ball all day and he scores the winner. Hated him for a long time after that however his goal against Germany redeemed him
