Ah, I do love anything with even a hint of conspiracy about it Playing devils advocate for a moment .. just because we are his preferred destination, doesn't mean he's our preferred target (anymore) I'm afraid. Refusing to sign a new deal, allowing his current contract run down, is all good for him if he wants to draw in possible offers from other clubs and get a move - but whether that makes him the man we go for or not, I'm not sure. We've been looking at Lemar since last summer (if not before), so at this stage I think it's pretty clear that we don't really want him, otherwise we'd have bought him already. I think he's just become a convenient name to have thrown around from time to time, to help deflect from having sold our best player half way through a very important season. As for Markovic, the problem there is that we can't get rid of the fuker !
I seem to have forgotten my smiley faces on my post again, that's my fault! My comment was of course meant as tongue in cheek.
I'd be very surprised if JK has lost complete interest in Lemar. If you are to use this season as a form guide, he wouldn't touch Keita! This may be the beginning of an effort from both player and club to manufacture a move to LFC at a more agreeable price. Unfotunately, Arsenal set that bar quite high when they offered £90mstg? I expect that JK may still be interested but not at the price that Monaco might have in mind. Similarly, Garrett, a player will not always go to the highest bidder. If Arsenal offer £90m and he doesn't want to go there, he won't leave and Monaco may have to sell to, for example, LFC. However, this is where the fine line arises. If JK wants him and if he wants to come, it will have to be a t price that Monaco will accept even if it is not at their preferred selling price. All this analysis and we still have months to go until the summer!! However, I would be surprised if JK is not interested in a player like Lemar. However, I expect that he retains an interest in other players too.
Mid February and Jan Oblak has only conceded 9 giaks in league all season. That's mad and if there's any truth we'll be after him in summer then just go out and spend a chunk of the Coutinho money on him. We've all seen the big difference a World Class keeper makes to the Scum with De Gea between the sticks
Yes as he's better than Lovren, Matip and Klavan put together. Whether FSG would sanction a deal for the 28 year old is the question.
We'd be mad not to go for Alderweireld. He is supposed to have a release clause of £25m in summer 2019. He is a quality player and would compliment VVD very well.£35m might do it in the summer which is decent when you compare the money being touted for Johnny Evans. Levy is difficult with transfers from Spurs; it's almost that he takes it personally. But Poch won't want to have a CB who doesn't want to be there. Apparently Lovren is on over £100k per week with us and Alderweireld is on £70k per week. It seems strange. Maybe do a swap with Lovren If we got a player of that quality and a left full back (added to Keita coming in and an expected replacement for Coutinho), then I think that we are then in a position to really kick on and compete for a title rather than Top 4.
There's no way they'd go for that deal, I think we'd have to throw in Markovic to swing it I'd bid for Alderweireld or Vertonghen right now, no problem, despite their ages.
Alderweireld Would be a very good addition, Also Evans is available for £3m if Westbrom relegated . Spurs have another year option on his contract
Alderweireld the best defender in the league if he recovers properly from his injury. His release clause in 2019 is I interesting . Spurs may have to sell him for 40 million or so this summer to avoid losing him for 20 next summer
Spurs could have a tricky summer. Kane is wanted by Real and it is hard to see him turn them down. I can see Real offering Bale as bait as it seems that Ronaldo and himself have no relationship and Ronaldo has publicly stated his preference to play alongside Isco (whether Ronaldo maintains the same influence in Madrid is another matter particularly if the Neymar rumours persist). I'd say that Kane would stay at least another season if he thinks that Spurs will challenge. However, if they sell Alderweireld and Rose leaves (as expected), Kane might get concerned and jumpy. Levy is a tough negotiator who likes to sell high (or not at all) and buy low (ish). If Spurs finish in the Top 4, you can see the likes to Alli, Vertonghen, Eriksen & Lloris looking for substantial wage increases. Eriksen, for example, is supposed to be on £80k per week. What's this to do with LFC? I'm not sure that Alderweireld will be available in the summer even if he wants to leave. Of course, Klopp might not be interested either!!
Great news if true. God knows how Mignolet got to 4 & 1/2 years plus as our number one. If the next keeper is as good as Klopps other big money signings then we have nothing to worry about.
