Whatever about anything else nights like that must make the club an easier sell to prospective signings! Who wouldn't want to be involved in games like that where you get to play football so fluidly.
Our biggest dealing in the transfer market could be holding on to coutinho, really hope we get it done
Insigne & Koulibaly - Napoli Werner (Leipzig) - no chance but ho hum! Bernd Leno (Leverkusen), Arrizabalaga (Bilbao) or Kevin Trapp (PSG - not getting a game) Hector (Cologne - injured at present but back in new year) It's very hard to get players in the Jan window but you never know!!
I would think that Klopp has Keita in mind for this role Mico. But you are right, we need a general in midfield.
I hope you are correct. I've only seen him score or see red this season.i have no idea if he actually fits the profile
Yup, so we really need to make use of this period in time and try very hard to bring in some more top talent .... Not unusual for a young talented player, but money talks more times than not (not always though, as we've seen in recent times) - long term contracts just tend to push the price up more. So, imagine if we were very serious and went in properly with an appropriate offer to get one or two of those over the winter transfer window, what odds would you give of us getting at least one of them ?
Hector would be the only realistic target in January Garrett but I doubt klopp would go for an injured player or one recovering. I'd say Leno or Trapp would be options in the summer. Hard to call on the Napoli players. Insigne has been there since a kid so it would cause massive controversy for a local lad to go to a club in the north. There is a massive divide in Italian society between north and south and it can affect transfers where Italian players are concerned. Koulibaby is not Italian and I would say will move for money. Depends on who might be in for him.
Reaching the knockout stages of the champions league , should hopefully see us sign one or two players
Losing Coutinho and Can but gaining somewhere north of €100 million gives us room to add a few players that Klopp will surely have been looking at. I don't think we can replace Philippe at all, he's a unique player so you need to find a different kind of player to rework your system slightly. Can might already be replaced with Keita, I'm not sure if they're a direct swap but Keita hopefully a big upgrade. Oh and we might need a defender too at some point.
I fixed that for you mate Absolutely, that, the Klopp factor, some seriously good attacking football of late, challenging for a CL spot again next summer, money to spend ... lots of reasons why we could bring in players if we wanted to.
I could spin it another way though, we're in the last 16 of the CL, top 4 in the PL and that's after a mini crises in the middle, things are looking good with the current squad and with more game time for some of the names added during the summer we're looking good for a strong second half of the season. No new names needed
Klopp and Peter Moore have both hinted there might be something doing in January which makes me think they're pretty sure something is happening in January. If that's not the case then they're putting their hands out to be slapped as the worse thing you can do to a lot of football fans is get their hopes up on transfers and then not sign anybody.
Only thing worse than that is the wife giving ye the thought that you're getting some tonight and then not following through!
Sorry not my reading at all, only thing I took from it was a confirmation that there is money available. If that money can be matched to acceptable targets then there there will be transfers.
Exactly what it reads like to me too in fairness but I don't think that's how it's going to be interpreted to be honest. The same as the way they've not really said anything that suggests that Coutinho is going anywhere in January but by Moore just re-iterating the stance from the summer and not being drawn on it again he's giving fuel to the fires that he's gone. Honestly I expect very minimal business in January, maybe a few out on loan or something but I'd be 85% sure that our starting 11 won't change due to a player signed or sold in this window.
We'll see soon enough lads but as Ed says, how I'm interpreting it is how plenty will.If I'm wrong then I'll see it for what it was,me misinterpreting what was said but an awful lot wont, especially when the media are finished running with their take on it.So my question is, why give us the chance to misinterpret it in the first place? Its a very easy situation to straight bat on,Klopp has done it a few times in the past and while the media will run with stories anyway,I don't think it's very clever PR to give angry supporters something they can hang their hat on when January 31st comes, and there's only clever people involved here.
Whatever has been said before transfer window by manager/board won't matter to fans. Do well in Dec/January and fans will be happy if nobody comes in. Have a fair few bad results over the same period and fans will be baying for blood come Feb 1st without any major incomings.
