Hopefully the game will go ahead as planned and there will be no disruptions to travel from Ireland over the weekend. I've been stung a few times over the weather.. the risk you take travelling to games this time of year.
Yes I remember a certain Fulham game around this time in 2010. Dublin fine and travelled knowing the forecast. Landed to the game being cancelled.
Remember it well too. Stayed the Sat night and was lucky to get home the Sunday. Took off from Dublin and landed into a blizzard in Manchester. Plenty were heading strqaight to Holyhead for the ferry.
Snow in Liverpool: What we are expecting So, now on to what we are expecting over the coming days. We are currently under a Yellow Snow Warning, issued by the Met Office. This is in effect until 11:55pm on Sunday. The Met Office believes snow is likely in Merseyside, and that travel disruption is a possibility. However. In the past hour, the Met Office has upgraded the weather warning for areas including Merseyside for part of Sunday. An amber warning is now in place between 4am and 6pm on Sunday. This means that travel disruption is likely, rather than a possibility.
Yeah our flight to Manchester was cancelled that Saturday morning. They were able to put us on the Shannon/Heathrow flight instead. Just getting cans for the train at Heathrow when an announcement came of the match being postponed. Still went to Liverpool and made the most of it. Turned out to be a great trip. Got caught for Spurs too in Rafa's last season but didn't travel because the match was postponed the day before. I went to the rescheduled game but can't remember if it was the following midweek or week after... Lastly, one I'll probably never really get over was the Arsenal 5-1 game in 2014.. winds in Cork that day. fingers crossed for the weekend..
Got a horrible feeling about this one lads I'm not gonna lie. I'm on the 7am in to Liverpool from Dublin like others. If it is gonna be as bad as it's forecasted I can't see the game going ahead.
2 things to consider.. 1. flights taking off..2. game going ahead.. Going to remain optimistic for now
I'm way more sceptical about the flight taking off than the game going ahead. The fact that it's a Derby conditions would need to take a serious downturn early tomorrow morning for it to be postponed. Manchester or JLA airports remaining open I'm not so sure.
LFC website Due to the inclement weather forecast on Sunday, Liverpool FC would like to remind supporters to take extra care when travelling to Anfield and encourage fans to plan their journey in advance. Supporters are encouraged to arrive at the stadium early and check the Merseytravel and Merseyrail websites for any updates before they travel. Sunday's game against Everton is planned to go ahead. Any further updates will be issued on www.liverpoolfc.com.
