I was talking about when I'm at work in public toilets, but sure I'll give that ago and see how I get on!
Christ no! Only piss in your own sink...bathroom not kitchen. Anywhere else and you don't know what dirty bastard has been at the sink before you.
And you were giving a vision of standing at the kitchen sink, surveying your lands, whilst imagining you were watering the flowers......gears well and truly grinded!
I was also going to say buying tickets for a game with clearly no intention of going but think that you summed it up nicely!
Reading through some of the ticket threads during the week I thought the same myself . Especially for some of the lesser teams.
Ticket Touting is one of the biggest things that grinds my gears Glad to see someone make a stand http://www.thejournal.ie/ed-sheeran-cancels-tickets-3502023-Jul2017/ Wouldn't it great if LFC cancelled all tickets sold by outlets above face value, however given they are effectively in bed with Thomas Cook can't see any movement
The inane, ridiculous arguments on FB pages. Yesterday on Ricky Gervais' page adults were arguing about the new Doctor Who being a woman. One idiot said if the ratings go down "It will be nothing to do with sexism.... it will be for the strain put on suspension of disbelief" The reply was: "So an alien can travel around the universe, regenerate every cell in its body, the Daleks and Cyberman and Zygons are plausible, planets can be stolen and moved around at will, the Doctor can have a sentient robot dog -- but the second the Doctor regenerates and ends up with a vagina, you quit because it's not realistic enough?" And the idiot: "Don't you think that's enough going on? You can't keep heaping more bullshit on top of bullshit" These were grown men and women, back and forth for hours arguing about a kids tv show in the most childish way. Every day I come across similar shite which can start over anything but will descend in to racism/sexism and nearly always ends up being pro/anti Trump. I spent 5 mins yesterday reading various comments and it's still doing my nut in. I presume Twitter is the same which is one of the reasons why I'm not on it.
Not on Facebook, Twitter or social media so I can sympathise and only suggest that one can exist without them........but you'll be a boring fecker like me then.
I'm on FB to keep up to date and in touch with family and friends but I often think about giving up on it. I have never heard one good reason to join Twitter. If you're existing without them you're not boring, you're blessed. I'd stay away from them if I was you.
Cyclists who are watching too much of the tour to France. I am very mindful of cyclists and always watching out for them. Two folks in work had bad accidents on way to work last few years so had made me doublely aware at all junctions. This avo though had two lads in full sponsored labelled Lycra gear in the middle of the road like they owned it on east wall road. If they caused an accident and there was a few cars smashed up, who's insurance would cover it?
People who put exclamation marks at the end of nearly every sentence in a paragraph of 6 or 7 sentences. What you've written is unlikely to that important, exciting or be in relation to a state of emergency. Not every time anyway
Haha. Bad grammar is very broad, need to pick our battles in the quest against that! Maybe a thread of its own.. .
Bad grammar or spelling is not something that bothers me,probably because I'm guilty of it.In my defence I never made it past junior cert.Auto correct has a lot to answer for though,I used to be much better at spelling.
We're all guilty of it, it's not everyone's strength and most don't care. I had read something with exclamation marks all over the shop at the time and was sick of reading about Coutinho
I agree with @Stevie S that nobody's perfect and the level of English language taught in schools, at least when I was there, was appalling. My gear gets grinded when sources that should have good grammar, don't, it's a criticism of laziness as opposed to educational qualifications, if that makes sense.
People using the hashtag making memories on pictures of stuff with their kids on social media. It's called doing stuff with your kids, we all got brought places as kids without a big deal being made of making memories.
I can't believe with all the posts commenting on words others use or how they speak That no one has commented on the thread title All very American, I've genuinely never heard an Irish person seriously use the term grind your gears On a separate note why do so many young kids now here speak like Americans ?
