Fantastic show from our little No 10 ... I was praying he'd get his hatrick, but guess he's keeping that for another day
Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho rejects Barcelona transfer talk Philippe Coutinho has rejected talk of a transfer Barcelona, reminding reporters he has a "long contract" with Liverpool . The Reds star is currently in Australia representing Brazil, but was asked at a press conference about stories regularly linking him with a move to Camp Nou. But the midfielder, who celebrated his 25th birthday on Monday, skilfully navigated his way through the questions, preferring instead to focus on the matter in hand. "Talking about this is complicated," Coutinho said. "I have a contract with my club and it is long. "So my focus is on the present and the national team. My focus is here." Coutinho is set to captain Brazil for the first time when they take on Australia at the MCG on Tuesday. In terms of his club career, Liverpool are adamant that the former Inter Milan man will not be sold for any price this summer. Coutinho signed a five-year contract in January, and has given no indication that he is seeking a move away, despite persistent speculation in the Catalan press linking him with Barcelona. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor...rpool-star-philippe-coutinho-rejects-13173413
That doesn't exactly sound like I have no interest in joining Barcelona, it just says it's complicated because he has a long contract, something about that doesn't exactly fill me with confidence but I don't expect him to go this summer.
I see LFCTV are showing us Australia-v-Brazil on Wednesday morning.... I don't have LFCTV and haven't watched much of it for quite a while now, is this a regular thing with them to show national games featuring our players, or just a move to help distract us with anything to get our minds of last week's fuk up ?
TV right's were probably available for buttons with a last minute deal, when no UK broadcaster was interested. I remember the channel doing the same when Torres was with the club many seasons ago.
They also had Argentina vs Brazil on LFCTV exclusively in the UK. I assumed this may have been as part of the deal for Liverpool playing down there. But more likely it was just to do with the rights being cheap and the games involving Liverpool players.
Lads, Don't get me wrong, I like the concept in principal and would love for them to show more international games if some of our lads are featuring in them and the games can be bought in cheaply, there's nothing of greater interest to be shown on LFCtv at the same time etc. (obviously I'd also like them to be available to viewers in both Ireland and the UK btw)..... But there doesn't seem to be much consistency here does there ... which seems a little odd.
Why is consistency important when extracting a last minute deal for a niche audience? Not that I care but a TV station of a rival club has done similar deals for friendly international fixtures.
My original post (quoted just above) may help a little with the context. Thereafter, it matters to the extent that I said I liked the concept in principal and would love for them to show more international games featuring our players............ it might even tempt me to consider becoming a subscriber to the channel, if I thought they would be showing "regular" live games with our players playing for the nation.
LOL ... was actually thinking the same thing myself (and that's before you move on to their footwear). Anyway, on a more important note, I hope he got them all signed up ... we could use a couple more talented Brazilians in the squad
Ah jaysus what happened to Danny Sturidge there in the front row - flippin knee brace and the new season only 2 months away
All over twitter personal terms agreed. If he's not for sale then he's been approached illegally and Barca should be reported
