Anyone know where Sunderland Away (1st game of last season) came on this list? I know that it was shown already (so it's somewhere between 85 and 100), I just want to be ready to watch the repeat because it's the only game that I didn't get highlights recorded from last season. Someone please post if you know. Thanks. PS. Anyone reckon that the OT game in March won't be No.1 ?!!!!
I was there and willl never forget it and It will be, but personally I think the 2nd half comeback agains City last season was amazing and will run it close.
Here's my top 10: Man Utd 1-4 Liverpool, March 2009 Fulham 2-4 Liverpool, October 2004 Chelsea 0-1 Liverpool, October 2008 Liverpool 2-1 Arsenal, Novemer 2004 Liverpool 3-1 Everton, March 2006 Liverpool 2-1 Man Utd, September 2008 Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea, January 2007 Man City 2-3 Liverpool, October 2008 Newcastle 1-5 Liverpool, December 2008 Liverpool 4-1 Arsenal, March 2007
The wins against the mancs are the obvious ones. For good reason. But as a manager, getting his tactics so right. The win away to Barca will always be the most impressive. A full-back out of position (or so I thought) marking Messi. A goal down early on and getting whipped. Most other sides would have gone on to take a hiding. To turn that situation around and end up winning was extraordinary. That's one of the most accomplished managerial displays I've ever seen. Right up there with that was the way we beat Juventus over two legs. We had no right to do that It was just down to brilliant management. Rafa is a genius and we are very privileged to have him.
one of my favourite games actually was the portsmouth games at fratton park the 3-2. its been show already but just one of the games i really enjoyed.
Same here but aparently beating Spurs(this season) and Pompey(2007) in pointless end of season games is more important Good lord it's embarrassing.
im not sure if this question deserves a thread of its own. but what was peoples favourtie game under rafa excluding the PL and obviously Istanbul and FA cup final??
1 game I was hoping to see was the 2-2 draw with Tottenham in April 2005. Don't think it is going to be there. Alonso produced a display that was as good as I've ever seen that day.
oh yeh this was a good game actually. luis garcia scored a great goal and then spurs left full edman maybe scored a worldy
