Which of Liverpool's young hopefuls do you think will follow in the footsteps of Emiliano Insua and gain regular first-team football in 2009-10? Sperring for me
I don't think we'll have anyone who will cement a regular place in the team but I think with the lack of players coming in El Zhar will play now and again and will get a place on the bench for most matches. I think the verdict is still out him but I hope he can come good. What about Leto? Has he got a work permit to stay at Liverpool for next season?
Pacheco (not sure if spelling correct) for me got a great freekick & tricky little bugger + would like to see Kelly given a chance now the great Sami has departed.
The one i'd expect, i guess if i'm honest i don't think any of them will! Who would i like to see, Pacheco or Bruna, both came with great repuations and have that bit of creativity that we're missing, neither is really good enough though.
I wouldnt mind that Stephen Darby getting a few more cup games. Dont think too many will get a chance this season as i think we should be firing on all guns from the start as this is an important season. But hopefully Spearing gets few games as i really think its important to have home grown players in the squad.
The forwards are all great if you ask me. Nemeth, Pacheco and Dalle Valle. For next season my vote would go with Nemeth
Kelly probably has the best chance of making an impression with Sami now gone just once Distin doesnt sign. i wouldnt mind Lucas and Plessis getting sold for some funds with Spearing getting more chances for the first team.
I think most of us are waiting for Nemeth to come through but I dont know if Rafa fancies him ahead of N'gog despite him having never had a change. I can see Nemeth being another one what we let get away down the line. Barring serious injuries I honestly dont see any of our fringe players getting a look in other than at most El Zharesque cameos.
Nemeth and Plessis took a backwards step last year.Wont get my hopes up about seeing any youngsters bar Martin Kelly in the Carling Cup (if he's not out on loan).Id have Jay on the bench injury dependant. He deserves a chance to prove himself-bringing him on when we're 2 or 3 up will ease him in.
One to watch?????? Ryan Babel apparently http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_5375145,00.html
Martin Kelly for me, he can move and he's a centre back who can pass and also shoot, of the Agger mould. He will be a good player.
I really wish Rafa would give some of these lads more competitive games ... Why not just give a bunch of them a decent run (well, subject to them winning games) in the cup games, at least the lesser important one and if they do well, let them go all the way to collecting the prize (reward for their efforts, opportunity to show what they have etc etc) ?
Who have we let get away in the last 10 years that has turned out to any addition. I can't think of one that we would have regretted letting go from ressies
Fair enough, haven't seen him in a long time, was only saying that he came with a great rep but i haven't seen any of him lately.
Id like to see Lauri Dalla Valle being given a chance... id like to see darby being given a chance at right back too....actually there is a number of young lads id love to being given a chance.. spearing has that bite about him i like...he reminds me of a masch...he's a decent tackler like masch... id love to see the no 29 jersey too much more next season....that being of young KRISZTIAN NEMETH......i no he was injured abit this season but this lad has class about him...
These lads need to step up and perform for their lives in pre season to have a chance. They will also need to do well at Carling cup games/ or hopefully end of group CL games that don't matter if we've qualified. While I agree with the sentiment imagine the abuse to be heaped on Rafa if we lost a PL game or two with these guys playing instead of proven PL players!!
