If alonso goes, i would love to see benitez have a look at this player, we were linked with him when benitez first came, started only 13 games for madrid this season and cant be happy, cost real madrid less than 15 million (around 12 i think) so at 15 million i think he would be a great buy, can play on the left, in the middle or behind torres if gerrard gets injured or in smaller games. anyone agree?
Would love him to sign-right age, unpredictable, skillful, versatile.Wed probably get him on the cheap and his wife is mint.
I think he's a bit of a Michael Owen personally - career constantly on the slide, injury prone and has never really fulfilled his early promise. He's not even worth £10m imo. Sneijder on the other hand, I would gladly take!
yeh sneijder is class, but van der vaart is a more realistic signing, not playing much at madrid at all, i think he'd be a good squad player, coudnt cos too much either, has been injured alot but i think he's worth a gamble , havent seen his wife mutant??
If it's not broken, don't fix it. We need Alonso to stay, we'll buy Barry and sell Lucas and get ready for number 19!!
Not 100% on Van der vaart, I dont think he would be consistent enough or stay fit enough, I think there's better options out there. Defo bring in his wife though
I think he would struggle with the physical side of things in the Prem, great player with tons of ability but just not strong enough mentally / physically I think.
Agree on Lucas but... No way is he a CM target for us though? If we had 8-10m to spare after we've adressed our main areas in need of strengthening Id sign him as an impact sub but to play anywhere across the attacking 3 behind nando-not in Xabis position. Is he not one of these "Between the lines" out and out creative players as opposed to a traditional CM/CDM?
Apparently his wife got a job on a TV show as part of the deal in going to Madrid, Hollyoaks looking for anybody at the moment?
i cant for the life of me understand HOW alonso could sold!!!??? - it'd be baffling, on a par with selling Torres in the summer.....he had a great season for us
