Anybody see this last night?fu*king disgracefull that no one has got charged. the man who looks like he is in his seventies is obviously scarred for life, very emotional stuff to watch
This Government don't have a clue about the feeling on the ground about this issue, there is some amount of anger out there. My father was in Artane & Letterfrack the two worst schools and some of the story's he tells are simply harrowing.
i wasnt going to watch that but i did, and i have tears in my eyes, its a bloody disgrace how an older man is reduced to this on live tv because justice isnt been done for them, truly awful
Saw part of that on TV last night, terrible stuff ... It's up to all of us to take action against the current Government, come election time ... the only thing any of them seem to understand is the risk of losing their jobs (sadly, it's not a general election this time around, but nonetheless, they'll get the message to some degree I'm sure ...) I've not heard of anyone who has expressed their satisfaction with the current government in quite some time, not alone read comments in support of FF / Green's actions, since they have come to power. ... and no, I'm not a long standing FG supporter or anything, I've just had enough of the current lot !
Ya saw this and felt for the guy but it was aimed towards the minister of transport, I'm not giving out about the old fella but there should have been someone from the church there along with the government. Why havent any of these sick cnuts been brought to justice and someone from the church come out an apologise.
Watched it last night snd have to say it's probably the most harrowing five minutes I've ever seen on tv. Some things in this country are an absolute disgrace. Have never been more ashamed to be Irish (and a catholic) than this last week. Such an embarrassment and to think what all those children went through and that most of the perpetrators have never been outed or punished. I think the hierarchy who protected them are just as bad. Something has to be done.
Watched this last night alright. Still don't understand how these people who commited such serious crimes are not being bought to justice like any other person. How can they confess to what they did and not face punishment. I don't think compensation is enough. Surely they should be put in jail and serve a sentence for what they have done.
Thats not an appropriate comment, there's good and bad priests, just like any other category of people you care to name. Way OTT in my view mate.
You haven't once mentioned priests or Christian brother etc in this post. Our government didn't rape anyone. Obviously they are a sham but EVERY party has had a turn in power since this all began. A national boycott of all mass etc should be introduced until them c*nts face justice. Its only when the baskets come back empty that they will take action. Another thing that concerns me is Irish priests and Christian brothers etc are scattered al over the world, especially in developing countries that are facing the exact same problems we faced as a nation 30 or 40 years ago. I would be shocked if these evil bast*rds arent comminting the same sick crimes in Africa and South America. They didnt just wake up 1 day and say Oh Jesus we better stop this, this is wrong. IMO they believed and still believed that those young boys deserved what they got. In relation to the post about stoning them to death I'd say this, its not going to ever happen but if it did the guilty would out weigh the innocent. Sick fu*ks.
every body has a right to there owe opinion mate i just think preist arent normal what happened in 60,s70,s was disgracefull i,d never trust a preist
Look what happened was a disgrace and what was even worse was the way it was covered up time and time again. Priests were just moved not sacked and locked up. i agree that anyone doing stuff like they did deserves severe punishment. But it's totally wrong to tar all priests with the same brush. Yes your entitled to your opinion but not everone of them is the same, one has to remember that.
Very true mate ... Please cool it a little, there's nothing wrong with having an opposing view, I entirely respect that, but it's the way that you present your view is whats important mate.
Thanks for the reply. Oh and for the record .... I don't either approve of what those guilty sick gits have done, or think they should be allowed to go unpunished. I truely think the guilty should be made to pay and pay dearly, for their crimes ... probably the worst crime ever, is to mess with a child, (however I don't want to see the innocent threated the same as the guilty, thats all).
It's not just a minority of priests and nuns that caused all this devastation to so many innocent children and others. This whole thing and the ethos of covering up went right to the top hierarchy of the catholic church and people who are still to the fore of it today. Those in the vatican knew what was going on and did nothing except aid and abet these animals by moving them around to find more poor victims . So I don't buy this argument of "you can't tar everyone with the same brush" - the catholic church is a disgrace I have no respect for it whatsoever and I for one cannot wait until the day it finally dies out, which hopefully won't be too long. Each to their own, but I don't know how people can still sit in Mass on a sunday knowing what this organisation put people through, and they are still putting people through. The abusers were bad, but the catholic church is unforgivable in my opinion. They disgust me. The control they had over people in this country, people were brainwashed by them and feared them. Thankfully the younger generation have a bit more sense these days and are less susceptible to their brainwashing and scare mongering. I was trying to stay away from various topics on this for fear of going on a rant but anyway there ya go that's my two cents!.
