    Hi guys

I'm trying to upload CD's to my zen and the song titles / album name etc isn't coming up and I have to put them in manually. Does anyone know why this is and how to fix it?. It's only new and I have never had one before so I haven't a clue.

    Cheers

Whatever software you use to rip the cd's normally connects to net to download song titles. Windows Media Player etc should do this.

If they're blank cd's your ripping from you might not get the song names and will have to do it manually other than that I'm not sure but make sure you're connected to the web so it can automatically get the song names.

    Thanks for the replies!.

Not using itunes I'm just ripping the cd from the drive and into my (creative central)library and then it's asking me to input the album name etc.
My web connection is fine also. Can't understand it.

I have itunes program on my laptop would that be interfering with it??

Here is what I do but I am not a mad music lover I use the Zen for podcasts mostly.Try this it should work for you...

I would recommend using mediasource (its free)for ripping the cd's as it will automatically fill out the tag information if possible, just do the the following don't worry its simple.

    - Under "sources" you choose "Audio CD"
    - Push the "Get Info" button" over the middle window
    - Follow the wizard to sign up for the CDDB service
    - After you have completed the wizard you will notice that the information about the tracks has been completed for you.
    - Under "Tools" and "Settings" there is a tab named "Audio CD/RIP"
    - Here you choose the format you want to rip to. remember, the higher bitrate, the better the sound quality, but the files also takes up more space.
    - Do not mark the box "DRM" when ripping to WMA unless you want your files to be copyprotected.
    - Once you've sat the settings to your liking close the settings window and you can click the "Rip Now" over the middle window to start ripping the CD

Should've come on a disc with the player when you bought it no? I got it with mine, it connects to gracenote to download the cd info.
