http://www.faivantageclub.com/elevenlegends/ Name the Ireland team that played against Italy in 1994 using link above Not exactly the most difficult thing for most people who were around to witness it (i was only 9 going on 10) But should bring back good memories.......like trying to re-create Houghtons shot on the green for 2 weeks after this Ok there is the first player....
Struggled to get the striker. . took about 10 mins! Amazing achievement that we could beat them on the day, McGrath was amazing outstanding.
Tommy Coyne is a legend, he absolutely ran himself into the ground that night. I remember as we approached the ground the rumour was spreading that Aldo got a knock in training and was doubtful and Tommy was playing. He did us all proud in that game, so much so he ended up having to get oxygen at the end and he was so dehydrated from his efforts when the drug testers asked him for a sample, it took him nearly an hour to pass water. He'll never be forgotten in my book.
Think i remember something about him passing out as well and having to lie down on the isle during the flight back to Orlando.
Im missing 1 full back,a left winger and a centre mid.....I was only 4 at the time so i have an excuse!Somebody has to let me know the answers at some stage!
For the full back, think back to Houghtons celebration. Who was the first player on the seen? He never cracked a smile, it was just dead pan, and then the 2 of them got mobbed!
Ah,nice one for the clue-I think I have him Paddy-did he play for man city at one stage ya? Still missing 1 CM-have keane and townsend, also missing the LM so keep the clues coming
To think this is what Im doing an hour before I have to be at my Psychology exam I'll deffo know the 2 of them but just cant think.......I'll have to get back to ya in a few Paddy
There was something in the paper this morning about being able to meet the team/some of the team involved in this game. Think it was the hilton hotel in June some time... not sure though...would have been the metro I read it in
