Just wanted to forget about the match tonight asap. Worst one for a long time under rafa.

Big match on sunday aswell. Spurs having really bad season but we seem to have lost our way.

Time for the lads to stand up to the plate and be counted imo.

    COME OOOOOON!

Looking forward to that game seems like the only therapy now, I want to see a big response from the lads, and lets get out of this mini bad run at home.

Really need to get a good result here too, our next league is against Everton. Away. Early on Saturday. After international games. Just thought I'd get that one in before Rafa ;)

I'm not too confident about the game. I wasn't at the start of the night and I'm not now. By the law of averages they have to put in a big performance eventually and for all their poor defending theres no denying they have talented attacking players with pace to burn. We really need to turn things around to get a result.

this is turning into a huge game now after the performance last night, spurs have caused us problems in the past and we will really need to improve a lot from last night to beat them, also its before the international break

I'd say the players got a rollocking last night, pure muck.

As someone said last night, since paco left the results and performances have dipped

Paco didnt pick the team, Paco didnt give the team talks, Paco didnt come up with the tactics and the players havent suddenly become unfit because he is not coaching them.

    Its a coinsidence nothing more.

some thing is not right at the moment
    porto 1-1
    birmingham 0-0
    wigan 1-0
    marseille 0-1

these are teams we should be beating, whats your reasoning behind the current issues then

All this talk about a good start...then they forget about the next bit. Im worried to be honest, Spurs, Everton, Besiktas and Arsenal i think is up next. Yes take 1 game at a time but a big few weeks ahead. Paco's departure...very hard to judge the impact, put it like this ...it didnt help

Champions league table looks bad at teh minute

    1 Marseille 6
    2 FC Porto 4
    3 Liverpool 1
    4 Besiktas 0

4 very tough premiership games coming up, think blackburn away is in there aswell

    Rafa, cop the fcuk on

Its a very bad table. If we draw in turkey, beat them at anfield, draw with porto at anfield and beat marsaille in france, we will end up with 9 points. We wont qualify with that. I dont fancy us to win all 4 games (porto could even beat us).

Something is seriously a miss. If we dont see a performance on Saturday, then I would genuinly fear for our season.

Rafa may be seen to be untouchable, but he has spent a lot and the yanks will expect a return. IMO there should be no pressure on him, but I remember a time when Messiur Houllier was lauded as the saviour. When the crowd turned on him there was no come back.

Am I correct in saying that the boos and whistles we heard last night were the loudest in any of rafas tenure. Certainly miles away from the half hour rafa song at PSV.

We as fans need to be patient, true, but to serve up the muck of the past 4 weeks is completely unacceptable. The guys need to look at them selves for solutions and not external factors. Yes the Paco thing was destabilising, and I was worried for one. But these guys are highly paid professionals and lets face it Paco going is no more unsettling than Mourinho going, yet that morgue boss was able to grind out a great win at the Mastella.

Come on guys, we will support you through thick and thin, but make it easy for us. Stuff Spurs. A torres hattrick would do the trick

Alrite people lets get back to talking about Spurs and not the Champions League.

Spurs are playing their European match a day later than us and in a different country - Greece.
Even though they are through and may rest a few players it still suits us better than them.

I assume Pennant will be back as im sure his sending off only relates to European matches so thats a bonus and Sissoko probably wont start or if he does cant ever be that poor again.

Going to look at a few stats of our previous matches against Spurs.

    • For all you worriers and doubters out there it seems we will definitely not lose,we may draw but even thats unlikely, but lose - not a chance (i hope).
    • Liverpool have won the last 3 meetings of the sides all to nil (2 of those 3 games have been at Anfield).
    • The last time Spurs beat Liverpool was in the 2003/2004 season at White Hart Lane – 8 meetings ago.
    • The last time Liverpool lost at home to Spurs (in all competitions) was in the the League Cup in the 1998/99 season (1-3).
    • Liverpools last defeat at home in the League to Spurs (1-2) was back in the 1993/94 season (with 2 goals for Teddy Sheringham and 1 for Nigel Clough)

The last 10 meetings in the League between the sides reads like this

    Liverpool 5
    Spurs 1
    Draw 4

The last 10 meetings in the League at Anfield reads like this

    Liverpool 8
    Spurs 0
    Draw 2

Liverpools home form in the League this season reads

    Played 3
    Won 1
    Drawn 2
    Lost 0

Spurs away form in the League this season reads

    Played 4
    Won 0
    Drawn 2
    Lost 2

We are unbeaten in the PL this season while Spurs have
    Played 8 - Won 1 - Drawn 3 and Lost 4

That only win being at home to Derby County - 4:0

They have lost AWAY to Sunderland and Mancs and drawn AWAY with Fulham and Bolton.

So i think we can see from the above, its unlikely Spurs will win but its up to us to go for the win, as Spurs really are struggling this season.

No point in sitting back and playing tight,we cant afford to drop any points.

Spurs remind me of keegans newcastle. Every time they attack, they look like scoring. But in defence they are all over the place. 0-0 then.

I have us down with giving them a 4-0 hiding. Kuyt to get off the mark with a brace (so I can finally get some decent points in my FF with him as captain)

Spurs should and may well have beaten us last season at anfield, Jermaine Jenas missed a sitter, then we went up the field a few minutes later and scored
