Stuart Downing?

Lads,

Looks like Stewart Downing could be kicking his heels in the championship next season....would you take him for our left wing? Albert Riera has done well but we could get Downing for a good price?

 

No . He's useless and over-rated. Used to think he had talent but no I personally dont think hes any use.

Would not go near him. Do you think United and the Chavs will be in for him, not a hope!!! He will end up at Spurs or maybe the bitters. He is average. England have not had a left winger in the last ten years, he is the only one and still can barely make the squad. Riera is a least as good.
Last Monday, Southgate put him to left back when they were a goal down.

Tuncay is a good technical player for Boro, but he doesn't get enough goals.

Between all the teams at the bottom, the one player I would consider is Martins. He is injury prone, however for a cut price deal I think he could be a good squad player.

 

i dont know lads, i think if he was in a better team than middlesborough he would be a much better player than hes showed this season

i have been shocked by his attitude this season. he didnt get his move to spurs and has not contributed anything to boros cause. you would expect more from a local lad let alone an england international.

 

I think its rare you'd find a local lad who would die for their club, theres obviously exceptions but with the amount of foreign players coming into clubs id say young local lads are happy just to make the grade or even get a few appearances to get in the window for other clubs...i may be wrong its just my opinion

 

i disagree with you to an extent to be honest. off the top of my head i cant think of many lads who have made the breakthrough at their local club. stevie comes to mind and to be fair scholes(i think hes local) and the lad leadbitter from sunderland give it their all. there is definetly more im sure jusr cant think of the top of my head.

Not good enough and its in 1 of the 2 positions that were weak compared to the rest of the 1st 11(other been right full), about on the same level as Riera.

 

how about wigans valencia for right wing, he is to good for wigan and could be a good buy, might get him for 10 mill
