Just got an email from a friend who has warned me about a confirmed virus(by Norton Anti-Virus).So don't open any mail with an attachment entitled"POSTCARD FROM HALLMARK"regardless of who sends it.Its a virus that opens a postcard image ,which burns the whole hard disc c drive of your computer .This virus will be received from someone you know who has your address in there contact list,so send this warning to everyone you know.Again it will be called "POSTCARD" DONT OPEN IT.It was also confirmed by Microsoft as the most destructive virus out there so be warned. The virus was discovered by Mcafee and as yet no repairs have been found for this.So be careful when opening your mail .REMEMBER TELL EVERYONE
think i seen it yesterday, email subject says "You have received an E Card from Hallmark",opened the bloody thing on work computer( A friend sometimes sends me one) Copped something was wrong before i downloaded it, just didnt look right, thank god i didnt go further
Just passing on info i got,and i don't care if it rubbish, old wifes tale or whatever you want to call it i will on the look out for it
All I am saying is the internet is full of fake virus warning's or do this and you will receive a $1000 gift token and loads of other rubbish. Yes, I am cynical I have received to many fake e-mails over the years. I know your intentions were good but never believe everything you read even if it is a warnings from a best friend. Check first before reposting.
So everything posted on the site is fact,i just taught to get it out first then if people want to check then by all means do so.I have not got computer years and this is my first warning and i took it seriously enough to post it here
sometimes warning your friends just spreads the virus if your pc is already infected, i had the virut 2 weeks ago a right ******* it was wrecked every .exe in windows first then any exe or program id run. ps if you get virut prepare to back up and wipe the drives.
My rebuke of your warning was not an attempt to personally attack your motives for posting the warning. I think about 5 years ago when Windows 98 was the operating system there was one of these similar warnings circulating on the web. The warning was written along the lines of 'Please check to see if your computer has been affected by the ??? virus'. The warning told you to check to see if you had a particular file in an obscure part of the operating system and delete it if you found this particular file because that meant that then your computer was affected. Well, the warning was bogus and the file was an important part of the Windows operating system and when this was deleted it prevented Windows 98 running properly. Moral of the story. Always check first before you believe any warning anything you receive by e-mail or on Irish Kop.
