Id forgotten Doherty actually was a singer, if ever their was a band suitably named after their lead singer its the Babyshambles, at least Amy Winehouse can fit in the time to record some good stuff between her overdoses.

More into the american indie than english (which has grown facile) scene now, the Hold steady, Of montreal, Panda bear, Midlake, Death cab for cutie, Ryan Adams( Not Bryan!!), TV on the radio, The Shins, Wolf Parade

Some of the UK dance stuff (Klaxons, Go team) is great
