Let's hope that the title race is still on when this kicks off. West Brom amazingly still have a chance of survival, being only 3 points off safety with two games to go. Not many would have thought that a month ago so this fixture suddenly is not as straightforward as it seems. Regardless of other results we have a chance of finishing with our highest Premier League points total and despite their improved performances we should be able to beat these guys handy. Stevie is firing on all cylinders at the moment and hopefully Alonso will be fit. Let's keep the high scoring sequence going (apparently it's the first time the first team has scored 3 or more goals in 6 successive games ever) - three nil to Liverpool, Torres, Gerrard, Kuyt.

Hopefully the title will be still on but can see Wigan bend over for the mancs and Arsenal are shite, so IF the title is over ,field the youths and hopefully Newcastle go down, if not another 4 will do, this is on sky aint it

Im all for giving youngsters their chance but God forbid,if the title race is over come sunday,Id still like us to put out our strongest team (with Sami) for the final 2 games and finish as close as mathematically possible for next year.If they won their last 2 and we dropped points cos we were only half interested then this season would go down in the history books as there being a bigger gulf between the teams than we deserve for our efforts this year. Its important psychologically that we finish as close as possible to them and lay down a marker for next season.

Do we not still need to wrap up second place this season to avoid champions league qualifiers, and even if we don't it would be a huge psychological blow if we ended up third, 9 points behind the scum, this year after all the song and dance that was made about our title credentials.

Full team must start and if we get a few goals up then bring in the young lads but i suspect that West Brom will be really up for this one with safety back within the realms of possibility (but only just mind you).

A draw is no good to them so they have to come and have a go at some stage, which should suit us. I'd love the title to be mathematically still on by the time we play but I can;t see it to be honest

Regardless of how the scummers fair out, we should go all out to win the remaining games to secure second place if it comes down to that.

I have a feeling the title race will be still be on this Sunday. Scummers to drop points tomorrow night and on Saturday. You heard it hear first:cool::cool:

Love to think the title is still on but as you say can't really see it happening...everybody seems to have folded before the mancs, esp middlesborough who were plain awful,

+ 1, keep the strongest team out there.

i predicted a walk in the park last saturday and it was,i wouldnt be as confident with this game though, west brom have been playing well for about 6 weeks now but have been only able to get some results over the last 3 weeks, they will go into this game with a balls out attitude, which could play right into our hands,we'll have to turn up if we're to win,no doubt rafa knows this and i expect our strongest 11 to start,2-0 to the redmen.

West Broms win last sat has given them hope. We must squash these hopes simple as. If (Hopefully not) the title is over still go for 3 points. We want the win our remaining games

The worst thing about it is the title could be over before we walk on the pitch but hopefully not otherwise i reckon this could be a tough game, personally i think their close to pulling off the great escape but we should have more than enough to come through with three points, will xabi be back?

Absolutley agree. IF the title isnt attainable this year then I think its important to finish off the season the same way that we have played over the last two months, and take that confidence into next season.

West Brom tried to play an offensive game v the mancs earlier in the season(and good on them for their pluck) but got absolutely twatted, same fate on the cards for em if they try the same, which they have to.Comfortable victory on the agenda imo.

Lets just hope we still have something to play for on Sunday. Expect to see us win it comfortable, but a win will be a win no matter how.

I could be wrong on this but I think the squad has to be named the day before the game ( when we will still be in the title race) so the kids can wait.

I can see a thumping for West Brom. €5.00 on 8 nil.

Yeah, as has been said on this thread by many, lets hope we are still in the title race come this game. I agree with Mutant that we have to put out a strong side and finish as close to the scum as possible. West Brom's fate is not our problem and we have to be professional right to the end, regardless of whether we are still in the title race or not. Im going for another 3-0 to the redmen!

I agree with some posters, field our strongest team. Lets not look at back next year at an almost title and almost 2nd place - lets at least take some pride from this season and finish on 86 points and move on next year to either number 20 (god im praying this will be the case but cant see it) or numnber 19 and send Whiskey nose to his retirement home still short in stats of the Greatest Football Club ever to play in the Premier League after more than 20 years chasing

Heads up lads no matter what happens by 5.30pm Saturday - this is still on until the Fat Lady sings :)

Just hope that the next two game results for Man U will mean that it will go to the last game. West Brom have played well and deserved to beat Spurs let alone loose, Brunt is playing well, and at least they will play for the win, they are going down fighting, it should be a good game and I think Liverpool will win and then hopefully the last day of the season will have some excitement to it and you never know . . . .
