England defender Ledley King has been arrested outside a central London nightclub accused of causing actual bodily harm sources claim.

The Tottenham captain is reportedly being questioned over an alleged assault on another man in Soho.

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: "A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of ABH following an allegation of assault made by a man in his 20s."

Officers on a routine patrol were flagged down by members of the public at around 2.30am today [Sunday] and a man was arrested, the spokeswoman said.

The victim is understood to have refused medical treatment following the alleged incident outside Punk nightclub in Soho Street.

The venue, formerly known as Nightclub Pop, attracts a VIP crowd with guests including Kate Moss and Lily Allen and offers table bookings with a minimum spend of £500, according to its website.

King, 28, who joined Tottenham in 1998, played in their Premier League game at the weekend which saw his side draw 0-0 against Everton.

Since his arrival at White Hart Lane he has made over 250 appearances for the club and scored 12 goals.

The defender also has 19 England caps and was a member of England's Euro 2004 squad.

    FFS,

Don't they teach anyone discipline or how to handle their drink, in the UK ? ? ?

.... even putting aside footballers for a few mins, it seems to be a weekly event to head out, get tanked up and have a fight with someone these days, in parts of England.

I don't understand why they can't just do what we do, get tanked up, then get a curry chips on the way home and maybe a singsong somewhere in between, for good measure ? :D

Apparently King said,"Oh, you support fat Gerrard", when he found out the bouncer was a Liverpool fan. Ok, he was pissed but that's no thing to be saying about a fellow England colleague. Strange!!!
