i think it is blown way out of proportion. only 40 people are confirmed to have died from it in mexico. the other 100 dead are not swine flu confirmed and could be anything. 30 people out of 90 million is not alot.
36,000 people died in the USA last year from "normal" flu thats about 100 a day on average and no one was running around screaming pandemic!. no one has died anywhere else in the world from it. why is it only in mexico? are there other factors not mention in the press?

actually i just read this on bbc: In Mexico, swine flu has been confirmed in 20 of the 152 known deaths.

so 20 people out of 6 billion are confirmed to have died because of swine flu .......says it all really about todays society.

Big difference between this and Sars. Sars did not involve human to human spread... if it did then we would have been in serious sheise

Diageo staff were briefed on pandemic by world health organisation middle of last year. They called all staff in a briefing and organised Tamiflu tablets for their employees and families.

Now the world health saw this coming last year, why did they not insist on countries making arrangements for this and enough medication could and would have been available.

Last time a pandemic happened in the world their were millions of people affected and most died.:0 lets hope this does'nt get as widespread as predicted and the 1000 irish people in mexico should be placed in quarentine when arriving home.
