yeah i heard the boys talking about him being that price..thats abit shocking considering he is a 7 time world champ...

but im hoping maguire does it...i can remeber him playing ronnie a few years ago when he was younger and he gave ronnie a cracking game...so he has the potential...did u hear about him meant to be involved in the betting scandal in snooker a few months ago?

Fair play to Hendry getting the 147 yesterday. There were a few tricky shots in there - especially that 3 ball plant to the corner pocket.
Like to see Higgins go throw to final there now.

switched off the snooker today due to football rugby and then some more football, but last time i checked murphy was leading robertson 14-7,robertson has won 7 frames in a row, playing to a finish in a few minutes

What has happened to Snooker? There are no characters in the game anymore. I tuned into the final and found it quite boring to be honest. Bring back the Whirlwind and the Hurricane!!!

Totally agree, the majority of players are all robots. The final was like watching paint dry as were most of the other matches. The sport is in need of a dramatic overhaul like darts has got in the last few years. The writing was on the wall for the tournament when O'Sullivan made an early exit.

I think it was a great tournament. The final was dissapointing as Murphy took on shots in the third session that hawk-eye couldn't pot and Higgins didn't really hit a pad patch. The quarter finals were excellent and both semi-finals had periods of great comebacks. They broke the record for amount of centuries in a world championship and there were some all time great shots. Hendry's 147 was one of the best I've seen too. If people can't appreciate that tournament I don't think you can appreciate snooker for what it is.

What kind of 'overhaul' do people suggest?

I'm not suggesting it wasn't a good tournament in terms of quality but the characters just don't seem to be there any more. As a casual observer of the sport I find it hard to get excited by watching many of the current players. Maybe you have to be a true snooker fan to appreciate it, but if this is the case then the sponsorship will continue to decline and the viewing figures will continue falling.

I'm not sure what can be done because I think for most neutral armchair fans they are more attracted by the characters playing snooker rather than the actual quality of the play. Unfortunately there are too few of them playing the sport now.
