never knew about this, only heared about it the other day.. the highest ever break in snooker was a break of 148.. During the qualifying stages of the 2004 UK Championship,Jamie Burnett achieved the impressive feat of becoming the first ever player to compile a break over 147 in a professional match, in which he made a break of 148 against Leo Fernandez. After being awarded a free ball Burnett took the brown as an extra red, then added the brown again and went on to pot all 15 reds with one blue, two pinks and 12 blacks[1]. He then potted the colours to complete a historic and remarkable 148 break. He afterwards commented "I didn’t really know how to react afterwards. At first I thought it was no big deal, but then I realised I’d made history.†Due to this match being played in qualifying stages he was not financially rewarded for this break unlike televised high breaks which can yield lucrative bonuses.
A 149 by Tony Drago in West Norwood, London in 1998 is recorded by the Guinness Book of Records as the highest in this category. In that match Drago was foul snookered and chose the brown as the free ball, to score one point. He then potted the brown again, for four more points, before potting 13 reds and 13 blacks, a red and a pink, a red and a blue, then all the colours
The maximum break is 155 And can be done by a player that breaks fouls the balls and snookers the incoming player thus leaving a free ball the incoming player nominates a color as a red scoring one point then potting the black leaving him with 8 points and still a possible 147 on the table I done it last week in the plex
ah yeah,i know that mate.don't think that'll ever be done. didn't know that about drago, surprised they never mentioned that the other day.maybe the match drago played in wasn't recognised as a "professional" match. still impressive though...
