After the disappointment of last week - we now have a chance to put it right Come on red men As proved today teams can score three goals there Believe !
Have to go at this right from the off, i think it could be a great game cause chelsea wont sit back and we will be giving it everything, even if they score, not much changes cause we have to score at least 3 anyways. Bolton did it today when they where 4 down and we are 3 goals down from winning. With our fans giving the boys all the support they need we can do this, we have shown what a great attacking force we can be in recent games and always with liverpool, when we are up against it we come good. No matter what happens wil cheer the team on untill the very end no matter what the score and we will show them chelsea fans what a real atmosphere is like.
Will be watching on TV but I am looking forward to hearing our support singing all night. John belt out the songs and hope our boys can do the business. YNWA
Have got to admit, Wednesday was about as low as I've felt in ages. And we need a minor miracle to save us now. But as a club we do miracles better than anyone. It's a huge long-shot, and most other sides would give up. But if we do happen to get the first goal then who knows. One thing is for sure, IF we turn this around then it will be talked about in the same breath as St.Etienne. It might go down as the most famous 2-legged comeback of them all. Huge ask. Enormous ask in fact. But if we get an early goal, it might, just might be back on. I cant remember a bigger ask over a 2nd leg away in European competition, but its here now so we might as well embrace it. Go for the throat, and see what happens. We've nothing left to lose!!! C'mon lads!!
Bolton showed they cannot defend long balls well- fingers crossed we can take advantage. Early goal- solid defensive display with Masch protecting and 1 just before HT would set up a lovely 2nd half.
were already going out at the min , so why not just throw them all forward , i think chelsea will sit back to them they know we need 3 at least , and if they come forward we will hit them on the counter , so they might sit tight and ride it out but with john terry out , maybe unstable defence , who knows , if we get 1 they will be worried , mark my words id love to knock em out in their own back yard
Its a huge ask !! An early goal is needed to put the pressure on Chelsea. With mash back I'm sure we'll see both full backs bombing forward! Possibilites ......
Tie is far from over folks, i for one, believe, if anyone can pull tis off, Liverpool can. Early goal will have them rattled. 3-0 liverpool.
rafa has never been in this position before,i for one can't wait for tuesday. there can't be complacency, they have to go for it from the off. i'm not going to make any predictions, just going to enjoy it...
Its gonna be one hell of a game, and I dont like to build myself up for a match like this, particularly with the game already heavily in favour of chavski. But, if anyone can, Liverpool can. I think Rafa will go out in the 1st half to keep it tight, and not give them anything else. 2nd half, in a 6 minute spell, we'll get 3 goals and win. Now, Ive said it.
its gonna be sooooo tough, i do think we can score 3 or even 4, bolton did it yesterday FFS. the problem i see is us not conceding, we cant afford to concede but chelsea have looked dangerous and drogba always plays well against us. i still am hopefull though.
I reckon cry baby Terry missing for them is worth a goal start for us, just depends on how soon we cash in on it. If we're one up at half time then I think we have a good chance. Like Joe was saying the other day, its not that unrealistic to picture us leading 2-1 after 75 mins. Stranger things have happened involving this club in the past and I for one certainly think this tie is alive and plenty of us could be getting the Torres horn on a few occasions on Tuesday night
i wonder what the odds on us just going through are. im going for a 4-1 victory. with sami hyypia being the unlikely hero.
You are not up to date then. He was not in the squad at the start of the season but a club is allowed make changes for the knockout phase of the tournament. Goalkeepers 1 Diego Cavalieri 25 Pepe Reina 41 Martin Hansen 43 Hakan Duyan Defenders 2 Andrea Dossena 4 Sami Hyypiä 5 Daniel Agger 12 Fábio Aurélio 17 Ãlvaro Arbeloa 23 Jamie Carragher 32 Stephen Darby 34 Martin Kelly 36 Steven Irwin 37 Martin Å krtel Midfielders 8 Steven Gerrard 14 Xabi Alonso 15 Yossi Benayoun 20 Javier Mascherano 21 Lucas 26 Jay Spearing 39 Nathan Eccleston Forwards 9 Fernando Torres 11 Albert Riera 18 Dirk Kuyt 19 Ryan Babel 24 David N'Gog
Nothing will ever emulate Istanbul 05, but if we can somehow pull this off it will be one of our greatest ever feats. Im hoping for a 4-1 victory with 2nd half substitute David Ngog to score the winner! Come on Redmen!
4-2 to us and we will go through on the away goals. Can see this happen. One thing is for sure we will not go down without a fight.
